There wasn’t any unnecessary drama and the focus was on building their friendship and then later their relationship and I loved it! Jason, our protective, teddy bear, caretaker was just what Emmy needed after all he’s been through. I’m glad that he helped Emmy realize that there wasn’t anything to fix/change about himself. That he was already who he was meant to be. And I really enjoyed all of Jason’s brothers and his best friend Theo. A lot of their scenes with Jason had me laughing out loud. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
If you’re looking for a low angst, slow burn, friends to lovers read then Make the Play is the book for you!

He is one of the purest, sweetest, gentlest characters I’ve ever read about and I adore him. I loved how at peace and happy he was just from being around his friends. The kindness he showed to everyone. And I loved the care and patience he had with our feral alley cat, Atlas. Basically Henri is perfection dressed in khaki pants and a polo.
Now for Atlas. I was a little miffed at him at the start for being rude to Henri but once we got to know him I adored him as well. Henri made cracks in Atlas’s walls and snuck through them to show him he can trust and is worthy and that made me so happy. Another thing that made me happy was Atlas’s relationship with his brothers. I liked seeing him soften when he was with them. The only other person he showed his soft side to was Henri and those moments made me melt every time.
This was another wonderful edition to the SCU hockey series. I can’t wait for the next book!
P.S I never thought I’d be squealing and kicking my feet over apples but On the Edge proved me wrong.

I liked Rachel and Xander’s relationship and Rachel’s son Jett was a sweetheart. I absolutely loved seeing him and the other littles at hockey practice and their game.
And I know this is a novella but I found myself wondering about details I thought should be included. Like what does Rachel do for work? Or why was Xander getting into so many fights as a goalie? I was under the impression that rarely happens.
Overall a good read though. I’ll for sure be checking out more of the author’s work. ...more

(in a way) And that sort of messed with my reading experience. The timeline just didn’t line up with what I had in my mind based off of reading the synopsis.
Other than that, I felt like the mystery although well written wasn’t for me nor was all the added drama with Blair.
I did really enjoy Callum and Eloise together! They had an undeniable chemistry with each other and the spice was so good. And I adored Dash. I hope we’ll get to see him get his happily ever after in the future.
I’ll for sure be checking out L.A Ferro’s other books.
