Mostly on Storygraph | 46 comments Would love some recommendations for science fiction & fantasy works that feature characters who mother, especially books written by women of color. Some examples:

Severance by Ling Ma
Future Home of the Living God by Louise Erdrich
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

Tiffanie | 2 comments Have you tried…?

Oryx & Crake by Margaret Atwood

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
(This isn’t pure scifi/fantasy but has fantastical elements within historical fiction)

Mostly on Storygraph | 46 comments Oh I didn't know there were fantastical elements in Bennett's novel (though I did hear it was odd haha). Adding it to my list, thank you!

Yes, definitely not fantasy, but if I had to name it, perhaps magical realism. Hope you enjoy it!
