sorry - this is my first group, so it is bound to be rocky at first. in the section marked "the basics" i have listed things to keep in mind when requesting a match, and when helping someone make a match. it is like a crash-course in RA training, but it is very superficial right now. i will probably add more if this group works properly.
no, this is good, but how can we separate the requests so that they remain distinct? can you move this to a new topic with its own heading so people trying to help you can have all the posts in one place?? like the way they do it here??

hahahaha no, i am trying to set precedents that will make this group useful!! otherwise it will turn into recommendation soup.

Please tell me you will quote this in your paper.

I've already read TOAFK. Loved it.
you may want to start a new thread for this, so people will see it. if you go to the top where it says "so ask already" and click on it, it will take you to a page that has an option "start a new topic". when you start your own thread like that, more people will see it than at the bottom of this old thread...

I would like to suggest posting in this folder a sticky note with the general template you would like filled out (pacing, frame, etc) and then a note saying where to find the RA tips for clarification on how to fill out said template. I think you might receive better results. As it is, honestly, feels a little sporadic and is difficult to follow at first. Of course, once you see the template, it makes perfect sense.
Just my opinion.
Good luck,
Rainy
ooh - tell me how to do this please, and i will. i am notoriously dumb at the set-up part of all this...

Usually forum visitors will check for rules within the forum/folder they want to post in, usually sticky at the top like this one. If it's not there, they may overlook there's an entire folder to visit first. You had the right idea with this post, just needed to include a template and a title to indicate there's a template that should be used, to encourage people to click on it.
Good luck :) It's a great group.

just click on where it says "let's get to it", and that will open up a list of all the topics that have been created so far, and at the top, on the right-hand side, it will say "new topic", and you just click on that, and you will have a fresh new box to type your request into.

In any case, I am posting my request here (if that's okay?).
My daughter is interested in books with a mix of horror and romance. Does such a thing exist? She said no to Dracula or Stephen King(the only ones I could think of). Do you have any suggestions? So, Scary and romantic mixed together with a dash of modern to it??!
Thank you in advice for your time, attention and suggestions.

here, you should post it in the "so ask already" thread, so more people will see it.

1st person, a lot of dialogue (I like to get the details as you go along...info dumps are boring to me), no tear jerkers, I am not big on time traveling (although space travel is fine) it is hard to follow. I read a lot at night so nothing heavy or too descriptive...it puts me to sleep too soon. I don't really like zombies but I have read books that have a "zombie light" or zombies in them that I have liked. Like strange angels by st. crow... I can do a good YA, but find adult books better sometimes. I enjoyed angelfall by susan Ee, and gone by micheal grant, the tomorrow series by marsden.

is 300 pages, end of the world, easy to read, and one of my favourite books; but Karen thinks it's boring
hahahhahhaah
i did. i thought it was not as immediate-feeling as people in that situation should be.
but we should start a new topic for this query, so people will see it! this is the right folder, but you should start a new topic, so the thread is all kept together. you know how to do that, or do you want me to do it?

Would that be okay?
