I know this may be a silly question, but can some of the images be a little creepy or scary? I have read some of Gaimans other work and some of it was really weird. It Sandman a weird or somewhat scary book?

It gets less creepy later in the series, though, so don't let it stop you! Sandman is dreamy, fantastical and definitely weird at times, but (for me at least) it's not scary.(less)

Does anyone here recall reading those old horror comic books from DC? The artwork on this first graphic novel (which is a more glamorous name for a comic book) from The Sandman series looks so much like the graphics from The 1970s comic book editions of The House of Mystery and The House of Secrets.

Leslie Davison "The House of Mystery" and "The House of Secrets" are mentioned in "The Sandman" as the homes of Cain and Abel. is this a book like a novel ? Or a true graphic novel that wont work on a e-reader like a kindle ?

Christen It is a true graphic novel. There's nothing book-like about this series. Whether it "works" depends on the type of e-reader.

From the sample I got for my Kindle from the Amazon website, it seems like it will work with a regular kindle... but it's going to be a bit tricky to navigate unless you have a Kindle Touch.

If you have a Kindle Fire, Nook Color, or iPad (or kindle app for iPad) that would be the better choice, since the entire thing is in full color, not black and white. (less)
