Dakota Amergan, beta of the Brac Pack, is sent on the hunt four states away by his alpha. As he scours the rough streets for a mystery man, he is approached in a dark alley by Blair, a male prostitute who begs to show him a good time. Blair Weston, first abused by his father then kicked out of his home, survives on the streets by selling his body. But when he offers himself to a fiercely protective werewolf, he finds Dakota isn't the typical john. Dakota, anxious to keep his mate off the streets, will do anything to keep Blair close. But can Blair overcome his self-loathing and let the warmth of Dakota's love remove the clouds of shame from his mind? Each book in Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack collection features a different romantic couple. Each title stands alone and can be read in any order. However, we recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This was book 3 in the "Brac Pack" series. It was a short quick read that I liked. Dakota "Kota" Amergan, beta of the Brac Pack, is sent on the hunt four states away by his alpha. As he scours the rough streets for a mystery man, he is approached in a dark alley by male prostitute who begs to show him a good time turns out the male is his mate. Blair Weston has had a hard life he was sexually abused by his father and when he got too old his father kicked him out so he turned to working the streets. Kota decides to pay him to keep Blair around when a john tries to kiss Blair Kota loses it and Blair runs away Kota also realizes that his mate can't read and he knows that he has to help him. Kota takes Blair back to his home and introduces him to the pack after they mate he tells him about his little brother. I hated his father and what he did to his son. When Blair and the other mates go out they run into another alpha who is a pimp and he wants Blair. This was a pretty good read the sex between these two was hot Blair likes to be bitten and Kota likes to bite. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
I loved this one ❤️. I’m so glad that Kota was able to find Blair and save him from life on the streets. That being said Micah has his work cut out for him with Blair’s brother, Oliver. I can’t wait to get to their story. This is M/M, this is insta-love, this is Omegaverse (no knotting as of yet though…), and this is a great series so far. It’s kept me interested.
If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS YES‼️‼️

What I liked about this third book was that it provided more background to the overall story while still staying focused on the couple at its center. The characters were likeable, providing a fun variation of the basic "Pretty Woman" storyline. Reading this with a werewolf background and more depth in the back story was definitely interesting.
Dakota, the pack's beta, is very surprised to find his mate during an otherwise highly unsuccessful mission. He has no doubts, however, and proceeds to do everything in his power to convince Blair to stay with him. Except tell him the truth. He waits until much later, which leads to a few complications. His basic needs are to protect Blair from the outside world, and lots of kink in the bedroom.
Blair has been abused by his father and now survives by selling his body. He should be a lot more wary of Dakota than he is, I think. I was also surprised he was into rough sex as mch as he was, after what he's been through. But he's very likeable, has a great sense of humor and approaches the whole "pack" business with an interesting mixture of trepidation and enthusiasm.
This is a story about a strong, rich character saving a weaker, abused one from his fate. If you like shifter-human interaction, with the strong wolf coming in to protect the weaker human, you will probably like this book.
This wasn’t nearly as “fun” as the previous two stories. Blair has an addiction and it’s a bit harder to watch him recover. He also likes pain, and that, too, isn’t always easy to witness.
Koda is sweet, just as the others are, really, syrupy sweet with Blair and that helps him to heal, so it’s a bit strange when the blood play begins.
I appreciated what this story offers, but it wasn’t my favorite in the series.

Johnny East has a tough job, giving all these characters something of a unique voice each, but he does a good job with it.
I liken these stories to Telenovelas, in that they’re all a bit OTT in all things. The love match, the “issues”, the smexy times… all a bit overdone, but fun just because they are all so overblown.
If you’ve been enjoying this series you’ll enjoy this as well. They can all be read/listened to as stand-alones, but each couple adds to the mix and we see them in future stories so it’s fun to read this in order.
4th Reading 1-1-16 Same as the previous times. Knocking is key and STOP jumping to conclusions. Ugh.
3rd Reading 1-1-15 Cecil and Johnny not knocking REALLY annoyed me this time around. Who barges into people's bedrooms/private offices/ bathrooms without knocking? Okay maybe it was just Johnny, but Cecil was with him a couple times.
2nd Read 6-1-14 Blair and Kota. Sigh. Loved these two and Maverick's dreams. He's seriously smokin' something ;) Cecil and Johnny need to learn the word KNOCK! Overall, I liked this better the 2nd time around.
2.5* One day I will learn, I know what to expect from these books and stories, yet I keep reading them and hoping for a different kind of outcome! The story is about Blair, he's been on the streets for 4months as a rent boy since his dad abused him and then kicked him out. Koda finds him and immediately knows he is his mate. This story has tons of things going on and jumps around a lot, but it's ok if you want a no brainier read with a bit of kink.
I won't be writing one of these for each book, that's just ridiculous, I will write only if I think of something to say and there was nothing particularly special about this book that I liked. It was good, though.
Let's just say that I am still having problems remembering which couple is the actual MCs in these stories, but other than that, it was a nice quick read! Interesting about Maverick's dreams and I really could have used a bit more back story on Blair... not to mention the twist with Oliver...
At least there was slightly more story cohesion in this volume. Of course we gave up on any kind of continuity long ago and are just going with the flow. Or something.
Anyway, the next one is set up with an underage boy who’s also a bit of a psycho and really cruel. Joy.
2012 Re-read Project:
I went and did it. I re-read all the connected series by Lynn Hagen, this time in order of publication date, as recommended, which sadly does not ensure actual chronologicality. That’s twenty-nine books of moderate length, spanning three series (with more to spin off).
I’ll put my thoughts in spoiler tags since I plan to paste this into the end of each review covered here. There are no actual spoilers, so feel free to read this for a general idea of the series.
In the tradition (this series is more or less at book 20) of Lynn Hagen’s style, the timber wolf of this book finds his mate as soon as the story starts, and most of the time is spent with the two of them trying to find a balance as a couple. The main difference with the first two books is that the human boy here is not exactly young and naïve like Cecil and Johnny were; I didn’t add innocent since Cecil was far from being it, even if he has innocence in attitude if not in body.
Blair unfortunately was forced to loose all his innocence first by an abusive father and then by a life on the streets as a hustler; that is the main issue when he meets his mate Kota, the feeling that he is too dirty for a knight in shining armour like Kota. Plus Blair has some kink, nothing major but still, that makes him not so comfortable to share a house full of men who are apparently looking at everything they are doing in the bedroom.
If the reader is questioning why suddenly all the timber wolf of the pack are finding their mates, when they spent hundreds of years waiting, the answer is simple: apparently their Alpha, the first to find the mate in book 1, is having special dreams, dreams that will send wolf after wolf towards the right direction, i.e. their mate.
In a way, maybe due to the less “pretty” Blair (don’t get me wrong Blair is pretty, but at least he is not so naïve like the other two), or maybe due to the sex that seems more balanced between Blair and Kota (at least Blair has some experience), this story had the feeling to be more “steady”, like it was built on more solid base. Maybe it was also that, at book 3, the reader has more info on the series, and even if the story is only a novella, it’s enough to involve you in the story, you don’t need much setting details to navigate in the series.
Good solid addition to an interesting evolving series.
This is truly a story that will break your heart as you read it. You learn of all the trauma Blair has suffered in order to survive and protect his younger brother; it's more than one person should have to bear. Forced into a life of prostitution isn’t the ideal choice for Blair but he has no other option in order to survive. Trusting others isn’t his strong suit, so when he meets Dakota he’s skeptic of the other man's motives. It’s hard for him to believe when Dakota tells him they are mates and he is going to save Blair from his life of poverty.
Dakota is a three hundred and sixty-six year old werewolf who has waited his whole life to find his mate. Now that he has he isn’t letting him go no matter how damaged he is. Dakota is a very possessive man, especially of his mate. It’s in his nature to give Blair whatever he needs to heal in order to deal with his past.
This couple definitely goes through many ups and downs, but when obstacles are thrown at them they work together in order to deal with it.
I was impressed Ms. Hagen had the courage to write a story involving a character that has suffered child molestation and lived a life of prostitution. These are very taboo subjects, but she writes about how this man overcomes his terrible past to move forward for a better future.
Ms. Hagen has outdone herself once again with this addition to the Brac Pack. She writes about the pitfalls in life but also about how the love of a good person can help save you. If you’re looking for a story that will pull at your heartstrings, give Sunshine’s Savior a read.
Coming Out of the Dark and Finally Seeing the Light
I understand why the Timber Wolves' mates needed them. These huge beasts with giant sized hearts were needed to begin the healing of, making new those lives were made terrible, by those who should have been there to support & care for them. Instead of making them feel shame, throwing them away, or abusing then in a manner they were helpless to escape.
What's so sad that as a Criminal Justice graduate with a strong interest still in the True Crime I've researched, continue to read, and view documentaries about the horrors that have befallen children & young adults. Horrors at the hands of strangers, relatives, a System that doesn't have the money or manpower to help these desperate souls and very unforgiving streets that they unfortunately often end up thrown out into. Or become runaways because of an unbearable home life.
They grow up - if they live -scarred on the inside and outside. Its no wonder I enjoy finding escapism in fiction with a Savior whose patience, love, attention, and unconditional love makes life bearable again. Then to be welcomed & not judged by the other mates is a blessing. If only family were as forgiving.
Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each): Brac Pack Christian's Coven Zeus's Pack Demon Warriors The Exiled
These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order): Brac Village Shadow Tribe BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids) The Remus Brothers Wolves of Desire
The third book in the Brac Pack series, it tells the story of Kota and Blair. Kota is the beta of his pack and is sent on a hunt that leads him to his mate who has been selling himself on the streets.
The first half of the book is spent with Kota and Blair getting to know each other away from the pack and is a bit of a bumpy ride as Kota has to first let Blair believe that he's just another john to get him to stay with him. Then Blair begins to open up to the possibility of a new life and their story really begins. Once they get back to "The Den" as the Alpha's house is known, Blair has to learn to interact with people who aren't out to hurt him, the pack is as always open and fun and the mates make it easy for him. Kota is his support and is always there for him, I love these Brac Pack shifters.
It's another sweet read and this series is fast becoming a guilty pleasure.
Shame and humiliation are ever present in Blair’s life, and to see someone like Kota accept him with open and loving arms is a pleasure to see. Blair’s character, like the other mates in this Brac pack series, has been dealt a rough hand in life, and it makes them that much more interesting to know. He has such a powerful connection with Kota that when they come together it is downright explosive. These boys are sure to light a spark to any dull day.
