Chances are that they are paid subscribers to Publishers Lunch, which is billed as the industry's "daily essential read." There's an introduction written by Michael Cader, the founder of Publishers Lunch, and he explains the scope of this compilation of excerpts from the upcoming release titles and others that are not listed. This is followed by Sarah Weinman's Big Fall Books Preview, which breaks down the categories and offers us other forthcoming titles from authors such as John Grisham, Tom Wolfe, James Patterson, Lee Child and more, including J.K. Rowling's first novel for adults. She tantalizes us with forthcoming books in literary fiction, debut fiction works, commercial fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, and even young adult and children's books.



There's a listing of the authors who will be appearing at the BookExpo America (BEA) 2012 event taking place in New York City on June 4th through 7th, and it's impressive. But what is so good about this is that for the first time, readers will be able to sample a favorite author's next work or discover the richness of a debut novel before the book is published in print, and before any coveted galleys are handed out at BookExpo America.

At over 600 pages, this well-produced Kindle edition includes excerpts for all genres. Even better than a summer beach read, it offers us a chance to see what we may wish to read for the remainder of this year and beyond. It's a highly recommended 5-star read.

BEA Buzz Book is a collection of excerpts on galleys that was featured in the last BookExpo America. It contained atleast 30 excerpts ranged from various kinds of Debuts, Non-Fiction, YA, Children, Adult, Memoirs, Mystery and General Fiction. Along with it was publisher's information after every end of its excerpts.

Unfortunately, not every books are up to my taste since several of the YA fiction are chic lits with considerable predictable storylines of revenge, girlfriends, boys, school and probably some supernatural things happening while some of the adult books concerned with American tales (like periodical history novels, prohibitions, family drama, war and etc) which I was completely disinterested with for obvious reasons. There were also several books on Christian fiction which I skipped for another more obvious reason.

Some of the titles that caught my eyes was Matthew Dicks's Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend, M.L. Stedman's The Light Between Oceans, Sarah Maas's Throne Of Glass and Bee Wilson's Consider The Fork.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend' and had reviewed the book a couple of months ago. It's probably one of the original book that I enjoyed from this anthology. I'm currently reserving the interesting 'The Light Between Oceans' for my fasting month readings. Its a story of a man and his wife who after several miscarriage, found a living infant in a boat with a dead body.

Unfortunately, Bloomsbury might have been banning me from Throne of Glass ARCs request which is very dissappointing since its the only fantasy novel in this book that I was looking forward to. 'Consider The Fork' is surprisingly a book on history and basic of cooking. Even with the supplied excerpt, its is very information-packed and a pleasant reading since I'm currently taking a short course on pastry and bakery and I do require some additional readings besides reading 'Professional Cooking'.

The supplied excerpt might help the professional industry for upcoming releases but its quite a generalized mainstream selections which may have not appeal genre specific readers. Maybe in the future, BEA would have made specific genre buzz books since it would have been better not to lump everything in one book.

This is a wonderful compilation of excerpts for upcoming release titles. At over 600 pages, it includes excerpts for all genres including literary, historical, YA and mainstream as well as a few memoir and non-fiction titles thrown in as well. It total, there are 30 titles included. The excerpts are long enough to give industry professionals (librarians/book sellers, etc) a taste of each novel to see if it is the right fit for the type of literature they are looking for. The provided contact information and links makes it almost one stop shopping. I would love to see this be a regular release...perhaps twice a year? A summer (coinciding with BEA) and a winter (perhaps coinciding with ALA Mid-Winter or some other event) would be so helpful to all involved.

BookExpo America does a lot of things right and one of the best things is this 2012 addition of Buzz Books 2012 edition from Publishers Lunch is one of the best. The book, from powerhouse distributor Ingram, ingramcontent.com features excerpts, chapters, short stories from 30 of the most anticipated titles at BEA 2012. You can give your favorite books a test-drive or get a sneak peek at the much-anticipated Junot Diaz. At least that’s what I did and, of course, it means that I’ll buy most of them. Probably not all the YA titles, but great to be able to see them. Also available in electronic form (for free) on iTunes/iBookstore and from Publishers Lunch.

This book is a really great idea and is a wonderful way to showcase some of the upcoming titles. It was fascinating to read all the excerpts and a number of the books caught my attention, leading me to request the full manuscripts on NetGalley.

Some of the debut works, in particular, look very interesting and I am keen to read them and see if my initial impressions were correct.

A great resource for readers and one I hope they'll continue with next year.

I think that publishers should consider this idea for their up-coming releases for each quarter. I loved going through this book and seeing all the pretty covers, reading the synopsis, and then checking out some excerpts. Great idea!!!

I really enjoyed this book, which features excerpts from 30+ highly anticipated books from major publishers that will be published in Fall 2012. I read it before going to Book Expo America in NY this week and found it very helpful in determining which booths I wanted to visit and which books to add to my reading list this fall. I found several books I'm excited about reading, from Jessica Khoury's Origin to Jasper Fforde's The Last Dragonslayer and J.R. Moehringer's Sutton.

I originally downloaded this for just one excerpt by an author I had previously read, and also found a bunch of new books to look forward to! The collection contains something for everyone - historical fiction,YA, memoirs and more. At a price of $0, this compilation was a great idea and I hope to see one again in the future!

I always look forward to the new season for Buzz Books. I love the selections for 2021 and really enjoy the thrillers Local Woman Missing, The Noise and Maxine Paetro, Ocean Prey , and others like Legacy, Family Law and Eternal - just too many to mention oh- Two-Way Mirror: The Life of Elizabeth Browning - Committed: Dispatches from a Psychiatrist...on and on. It is great to have this list in one place, that is so long I know I would never be able to read all of them even given 11 more years or so... but thanks so much Buzz Books.

This collection of excerpts from different authors was such a great read. It was a little frustrating to read and get into characters you've just been introduced to, only to not have the instant gratification of turning the page to finish the story.
This was a fun way to find new authors and books to read.
