Well that's a first, a random side character with stand powers that isn't a bad guy, at least based off the above comments.

Can I just point out how amusing it is that of all the different countries and nations we've been to over the course of this series Tonio is the only one with an accent? XD

This was over the top even by JoJo's standards and I absolutely loved it.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

That. Was. PERFECT!! XD
These were some of the funniest/craziest chapters in the manga, and David Production really nailed it here! Had me laughing the whole episode.

Still the most overhyped "arc" in part 4, I just don't get what's so good about it, though I liked the arc in the manga more than here but still probably one of my least favorite.

This arc never fails in making me hungry, Tonio and his Pearl Jam might just be the best chef in the world. He's also a good showcase that not all Stand users need to have crippling personality defects. Just a sad backstory apparently (for all those who've read the Poaching Reef, you know exactly what I mean).

I think it'd be better as a movie, but yeah, PHF is pretty good especially for a LN spin-off.

Does the announcement of the new OP mean that the anime is gonna continue into summer cour? I believe it does. Good-- the sooner we get animated Rohan and Kira, the better.

Joining in on the PHF hype train. It was so much better than I was expecting it to be. While a movie would be great, it is more likely to be adapted as an OVA. But who knows? Perhaps it'll be a multi-episode OVA affair to fully flesh everything out. It'd be a great way to cap off Vento Aureo...

Omg im so hype, best jojo Joseph returns! I hope he doesnt die in part 4, hes looking kinda frail at the end of episode. I hope he gets to die of old age ;<< lol too much invested into him so far for me personally.

Josuke and his stupid hair can die for all i care. I hope jotaro ends up being OP tho hes sick.

Good episode. Okuyasu has got some hilarious reaction faces to all the food he was eating.
Would love to have a taste of all that delicious Italian food without my stomach exploding though.

Lol Josuke punching that plate of Spaghetti.

Tonio is pretty cool. He seemed suspicious, but in the end he only wants to help people get healthy. So nice to see someone else besides the Protagonists use their Stand for good.
Would love to see him in future episodes.

For a minute I was like not another dog death.

Joseph Joestar & Red Hot Chilli Pepper next week. Can't wait to see what he looks like since Part 3.

Was kind of disappointed by the episode compared to the manga chapters. It wasn't bad by any means but I don't think it quite captured the extent of the stand paranoia and Okuyasu ridiculousness as much as it could have. The poor animation probably didn't help as it was particularly distracting this episode, but whatever. Hard to complain too much about the Tonio arc. I did think the final bit when Josuke goes into the kitchen was done justice however.

Quite looking forward to the RHCP arc. My favorite part of the pre-Kira stuff.

I said something earlier, but cut that down so as to not sound ridiculous on this forum. Let's just say chemotherapy is not the right solution and cancer really isn't as complex as most seem to think it is. It's a matter of alkalizing the body. I'll leave it at that.

Anyway, glad to see a recognizable bulk of DavidPro's team having dedicated themselves to work on this episode.

Have you peeps even heard of Yakitate Japan? It's an anime which debuted over a decade before the Food Wars anime yet it also contains foodgasms galore.

this episode killed me. the voice actors did an amazing job and i kept saying, i am so thankful for okuyasu's voice actor bless him.

i like how this episode went at the same speed as to how things unravel when reading the manga. i always feel like there are these moments where you are like what the hell is even going anymore this is crazy get me off this rollercoaster (but not really). makes me excited for everything else that will come.

Indeed, Johnny is an excellent sidekick.

Jojo´s is even amongst japanese considered to be from the golden age of Manga (the 80´s) it probably inspired all modern mangaka to an extend the same way Dragon Ball did.

This episode was over the top even for JoJo's standars. And was totally awesome. Art, animation, voice acting, everything was perfectly executed. Love that Tonio ended up being just a nice guy who helps others despite how gruesome his Stand is when it helps people. And also love the bromance between Josuke and Okuyasu. They are a really funny duo.

And at the end, Joseph is coming. That's really great, though he looks really old.

From the JJBA Wiki:
"Crazy Diamond's unique ability is to restore or revert objects or organisms to any previous state in their history. It can repair damage, heal injury, revert chemical changes and complex structures to their raw components (e.g. a table into its constituent timber). It may also fuse objects, such a person with a rock (as with villain Anjuro Katagiri). If this ability is used while Josuke is in a foul mood, its target may be warped, improperly restored. Crazy Diamond can neither heal its master, retrieve things erased by The Hand, nor restore life to an organism."

Crazy Diamond's power is not healing, it's restoration. Winding something back to what it used to be.

Joseph is coming and they referenced Red Hot Chilli Pepper (it's why the the Speedwagon foundation representative had to personally see Jotaro as opposed to phoning him as R.H.C.P can intercept their message).

There are a lot of arcs in this series that are self-contained, they're to facilitate characterisation among the characters.

I love how they baited the audience into thinking Tonio would be a villain only to make him one of the most kind characters in the series.
Okuyasu was great all around. I loved the amount of pop culture references he spouted when he was enjoying his food.

We are slowly getting to the climax of the first half. The next few episodes will be awesome!!

So I didn't get the reference Okuyasu made after he drank the water. About crying during the movie, Champ, more than he did when he drank Tonio's water. As such, I did a search on it.

Wikipedia: "The picture tells the story of a washed-up alcoholic boxer (Beery) attempting to put his life back together for the sake of his young son (Cooper)."

Even in a funny episode, Okuyasu still manages to make me sad.

Nah, there have been quite a few with accents. The doctor in the Empress episode of Part 3 spoke with straight-up broken Japanese, which we reflected in our blu-ray subs. Abdul also had a slight accent.
