Once Upon A Royal Christmas written by Teri Wilson needs to be turned into a Hallmark movie. I loved this book, but at times I felt like certain parts were rushed, therefore I had to rate this book four stars. This book will give you all the Christmas and wintery vibes possible. I have never read a book written by Teri Wilson before this one, but in the near future I will definitely check out her other books. I'm a sucker for this time of year with Christmas books and Hallmark Christmas movies. The cover for this book is absolutely gorgeous. I went into this book completely blind, which I highly recommend doing because it made the smiles and giggles more worth it. There were so many heart warming moments that you can't help but just smile your way through. I will admit this book was a bit cheesy, more than I bargained for, but still a great story. Despite the rushed parts, it was still an enjoyable book. I want to try San Glacera's famous hot chocolate with a Hershey kiss at the bottom. Let me be honest, I have never read a Royal Christmas story before, but i'm glad I chose this one to be my first because it was lovely. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND HALLMARK PUBLISHING FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!! Gracie Clark pretends to be a princess at children's parties, but can she melt a real prince's frosty heart? Gracie Clark aka Princess Snowflake plays "dress up" as a real life princess for children in the hospital and attends numerous birthday parties. As a young woman who "dresses up", Gracie is not taken seriously by many. When Gracie tries to get a bank loan for her Party Princesses business, she is denied because she's not a "real princess". Gracie is trying to expand her business and trying to give the other princesses the benefits they deserve before the holidays. When Gracie is denied for a bank loan by numerous banks, her best friend and business partner, Clara enters them into a competition for "A Winter Wonderland Contest" in San Glacera. The prize money is worth $30,000, Gracie could use that money to pay back the other party princesses and expand her business, but there's only one condition for this contest, Gracie has to sing on Christmas Eve. Singing brings back memories that Gracie doesn't want to be reminded of. Prince Nikolas of San Glacera was away on a trip to honor the San Glacera's military, when the palace talked his family into holding a contest. San Glacera relies on winter tourism, but this year they are attracting fewer and fewer tourists, due to a store that was put out by Prince Nikolas's ex-girlfriend. Prince Nikolas's ex-girlfriend said he's a stone cold person, but when a photo of Prince Nikolas is out in the kingdom's newspaper, he looks frosty with icicles hanging off his beard. The winner of this contest gets to play a character in their annual Ice Village festivities and accompany the royal family to holiday events. As Princess Snowflake and Prince Nikolas are out for a stroll in the kindom's village, the two run into each other and..... surprise sparks fly. Gracie and Prince Nikolas have so much in common, and the two start falling for each other. Prince Nikolas understands Gracie more than anyone ever could. Once Upon A Royal Christmas was cheesy, festive, fun, and heart warming. As cheesy as it was, the chemistry between the characters worked really well for me. The "Royal Hot Chocolate" recipe at the end of the book was a big bonus. This book is a clean romance, so no spicy scenes, just a few kisses here and there. I felt the Christmas cheer through the entire book. Once I started reading this book, I didn't want to put it down once, but you know the Christmas decorating is well worth stopping a book for. When a book leaves you smiling, you know it's the type of book you'll never forget. I love learning how other people celebrate/decorate for Christmas, it's so inspiring, and gives me so many new ideas. There were so many tasty treats involved in this story, and boy did I want to try all of them because you all know a girl loves their sweet treats, especially if there's chocolate involved. Please do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book for the Christmas and holiday season, you won't be disappointed despite the cheesy romance, but that's what makes you laugh while reading a book. ...more |

I have no words, this book was so beautiful. An Island Summer by Jenny Hale is a heart warming, emotional story that will capture your heart the minute you start reading. I was instantly hooked from the very first page, and I couldn't put it down. I have never read a book written by Jenny Hale, so after reading this one, i'm definitely going back and reading her previous books. This book is a small town romance about new beginnings, old secrets and how home is truly where the heart is. This isn't your typical "fall in love" summer story, it's so much more than that. I'm so happy I had the chance to read this book because it was definitely one of my favorite summer reads of 2022!!! The characters will capture a piece of your heart. As a person who lives in North Carolina, and has never been to the Outer Banks, An Island Summer definitely makes me want to go to this beautiful beach town. Please do yourself a favor and don't pass this book up, I absolutely loved it so much!!! "Whatever is going on in your life, calm is within you. Sometimes, you just have to wade through the deep waters to find it". In the summer, everything feels possible, right? Well, not for Meghan Gray. Meghan lost her Pappy ten years ago. All that Meghan has left of her Pappy is his cottage in the Outer Banks, of North Carolina. Meghan just wants to feel close to her Pappy again, so she leaves her job and apartment in New York. Meghan worked as a waitress in New York, but has been told many times that she could never be a chef. Meghan returns to the golden sands of Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks for the summer with her best friend Tess. I love the friendship Meghan and Tess had, they seem like such an amazing duo of best friends. Tess has dropped everything back in New York to spend the summer with Meghan. After Pappy passed he left a manila envelope behind for Meghan. Inside the envelope is a black and white picture that Meghan has never seen before, and a key to somewhere that Meghan must unlock to find the secrets that Pappy never told her. On the first night on the sun drenched island, Meghan meets Toby Meyers and his grandfather. Meghan and Tess are out for the night having ice cream when Toby's grandfather comes up and hugs her thinking she's someone else. Toby is a local businessman and owns the Inn that Tess and Meghan work at for the summer. Meghan feels so lost without Pappy, but looking into Toby's piercing blue eyes feels like coming home, until Meghan hears one of her co-workers spilling the truth of who Toby really is. Toby wasn't a horrible character at all, but why couldn't he just come out and be straight up honest with Meghan when they first met. Meghan lost both of her parents in a car accident when she was very young, so her Pappy took her in. Meghan spent her childhood in this beach house, playing in the ocean, fishing on the boat with Pappy, and cooking in the kitchen. Meghan found her love for cooking when she would always cook with Pappy. The beach house where Meghan spent her childhood is just how she remembers, a shingled bungalow with two rocking chairs on the porch and shutters on the windows. As Meghan and Tess stroll the sandy beach with Meghan's dog, Charlie, they realize they are making new memories. Ugh, I just loved Tess and Meghan so much, they were seriously the cutest best friends. When Meghan opens the envelope and finds the white and black photograph of someone she doesn't recognize, if she can find out it's meaning, and why Pappy gave it to her, Meghan will unlock a secret that has been hidden for decades. The truth of this photograph has the power to change everything Meghan and Toby thought they knew about their lives, it will either bring them together or break their hearts.... but, you must read this amazing book to find out what happens. The cover for this book just screamed at me, SUMMER, BEACHY VIBES!!!! I adored this book so much, and can't wait to read other books by Jenny Hale. ...more |

Christmas At The Sleigh Cafe written by Melinda Curtis is part of a series, but you can most definitely read it as a standalone which I did. Reading this as a standalone was honestly so easy, I never once got lost within the story, it was all pretty easy to follow along with. This book was so cute, the whole time I was reading I just kept saying "awwww". If you want something sweet and short for this holiday season, then I highly recommend picking up this book. Christmas At The Sleigh Cafe is a friends-to-lovers trope, normally this trope doesn't work out for me, but in this book it worked perfectly fine and I absolutely adored it. I have never read Melinda Curtis before, but after reading this book and falling in love with the characters, and Melinda's writing style, I will definitely check out her other books in the future. There were so many delicious treats mentioned in this story, that I know I need to start some Christmas baking immediately. I can't express how much I adored and loved this book so much, otherwise my review would never end, and I don't want to bore y'all. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book, a cozy blanket, any warm drink of your choice, and just plop down and read this book, because once you start you won't want to stop. I felt like I was in the small town of Christmas Mountain, Montana. This Christmas is the first time Allie has been home to celebrate Christmas with her family in a couple of years. Allie Jameson is a professional dancer. Allie's life revolves around dancing since she was very young Allie's career is nothing but dance according to her mom, I loved Allie's mom, but at the same time I kind of felt like she was somewhat controlling, if Allie didn't want to dance anymore, her mom should have been more than understanding. Allie isn't home just for the holidays, but to regroup and relaunch her career after the Broadway show she was in was canceled. Allie also came home after an injury with her foot, but her family doesn't know that, only her longtime best friend, Nick Stocking. Maybe Allie will go back to New York to keep dancing, or maybe she'll try dancing on the west coast, but Allie is certain about one thing, she isn't staying in Christmas Mountain, Montana after the new year. Allie was told to call her mom once she got to the bus station, but her best friend Nick was the one to show up. Allie never told her mom she was home to heal her foot injury, her mom only thinks she's home because the Broadway show was canceled. Allie is a professional dancer, and her best friend, Nick is a professional chef. While Allie ponders her options, she decides to take a job waitressing at the Sleigh Cafe, the Sleigh Cafe is a little bakery that Nick and his mom run. Nick knows about Allie's foot injury and knows she should be healing her foot, but Allie won't take no for an answer, she's determined to prove that she can do anything with an injured foot. Allie is at cross roads of what she wants to do with her career, she doesn't want to let her mom down, but Allie knows she can't dance forever. Allie knows things in Christmas Mountain never change, expect that things have changed since she was last home for Christmas. The Sleigh Cafe has started a new thing, a Christmas bulletin board, where people can leave other's inspirational cards. Someone's leaving uplifting Christmas notes for the people in Christmas Mountain, the staff at the Sleigh Cafe, and notes for Allie herself. For the first time ever, Allie can't look at her best friend from high school, Nick Stocking without thinking about mistletoe kisses. This is all so confusing for Allie, except it's really not. Because no matter what has changed, Allie will leave town come January first..... or will she? I absolutely adored Allie and Nick, they were so cute. I always love how Nick never pushed Allie, he gave her options, but he never pushed her to do something she didn't want to do, he never made Allie choose dancing over him, or him over dancing. This book made my heart swell with pride. I never wanted this story to end because I just had so much fun reading about Christmas Mountain, Montana. Like I sad before, please grab this book, you definitely won't be disappointed. The cover is just so beautiful and screams Christmas is fastly approaching at me. If anyone reads this book, I hope you love it just as much as I did. This beautiful story deserves way more than five stars. ...more |

How The Grump Saved Christmas written by Claire Kingsley is the most perfect title for this book. I absolutely loved this book so much, from start to finish, I couldn't put it down. It gave all the Christmassy fluff imaginable, from snow, Christmas lights/decorations, and so much more. I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, but boy was I wrong, I devoured this book like a good ole bowl of cookie dough. I had so many emotions with this book from smiling, laughing, getting teary eyed, and being somewhat angry at times. The beautiful cover grabbed my attention from the minute I saw it and knew I had to read it. How The Grump Saved Christmas could easily be turned into a Hallmark movie. This book has the most perfect amount of fluff and cute moments. I have never read a book by Claire Kingsley before this one, but after this book I will definitely check out her other books. At times this book broke my heart, but at the same exact same time it made my heart swoon. I just wanted to reach into this beautiful book and give all the characters a hug, because they deserve it no matter how grumpy they are. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. How The Grump Saved Christmas was no doubt my favorite holiday read of 2022. First off, I want to thank my girl Huda for buddy reading this book with me. The Twelve Dates of Christmas written by Jenny Bayliss was such a fun holiday rom-com to read during this time of year. I didn't love this book as much as I expected to, but with that being said, it was still an enjoyable book. This book made me laugh, but it also caused some eye rolls. This was my first book by this author, but it certainly won't be the last. The little town of Blexford, England was so charming and so unique. I feel like every time I read a book from a different country I always pick up on their language, so for The Twelve Dates of Christmas it took place in England, and now this book has me saying "blimey", "knickers". The cover for this book just gives me all the Christmassy vibes. The characters were hilarious, but they can also resonate with so many people in today's world. This is a friends-to-lovers trope, which doesn't really work out for me, but this one was perfect, my only complaint was the ending was a bit rushed. Despite the very little mishaps, if you're looking for a funny holiday read, then I highly recommend picking this book up. First off, I want to thank Cheyann for buddy reading this book with me ...more |

The Christmas Kiss written by Elizabeth Woodcraft was cute, but it somewhat confused me. There were too many characters, certain characters from the previous story came up in a new story, but with other different people. I like how this author made little stories based on the same town in London, but less characters would have been better for me. The cover and title really pulled me in to read this book, but, I don't know, it just wasn't one of my favorite Christmas books of this year. I enjoyed learning about different traditions that other countries have, specifically this book was based off in London, so they have like a cracker pulling contest, where little gifts fall out of the cracker, i'm not sure if it's like the food cracker, but if so, how does someone fit a ring in a cracker? "Why does a bee hum"? -Because they don't know the words. The short stories this book includes: Christmas at Schmidt's The Christmas Magician The Christmas Party The Christmas Choir Father Christmas Fireman The Christmas Note The Christmas Cookery Lesson The Christmas Play The Christmas Affair The Christmas Cake The Christmas Kiss The Christmas Traffic Jam Christmas in the Lift Christmas in Paris The Box of Christmas Baubles The Christmas Card Waiting for a Christmas Kiss The Christmas Meal The Christmas Revelation The Christmas Day Dinner Disaster THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND CAMERON PUBLICITY AND MARKETING LTD FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!! ...more |

A Home For Christmas written by Katie Eagan Schenck was such a beautiful story. This book pulled on my heart strings in so many ways. I fell in love with the cover, then I read the description, which I fell in love with even more and knew I had to grab this book immediately. I don't know what it is about military, and Christmas books but they always somehow destroy my heart. A Home For Christmas is so much more than a sweet romance book, it's about reaching out to strangers who are alone for Christmas, especially those fresh out of the military, it's about finding love in people we least expect after so much hurt. The characters life stories hit like a knife to your heart after learning about their past and what their future is going to look like. There's nothing better than reading a book and sobbing over a bowl of bacon man n' cheese. As much as this book hurt to read, it's worth every single minute. Please do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book, at least two boxes of tissues, a warm blanket that can absorb your tears, and just read this book from start to finish. I was instantly hooked from the very first page, and couldn't wait to find out the outcome. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND CHAMPAGNE BOOK GROUP FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!! Shelly is a flight attendant, it's not her dream job, but it helps get the bills paid. Shelly is fresh out of a divorce with her ex-husband, Carl, after finding out he was having an affair and bringing his mistress to the families Christmas dinner. Shelly and her daughter Lilly haven't heard from Carl since then, but a few days before Christmas Lilly receives emails from her father, but won't tell her mom because Lilly is trying to protect Shelly's heart. Carl truly pissed me off, he really had to bring his mistress to their family dinner in front of his daughter? That's some nerve you got, buddy. Shelly is rarely home due to her job as a flight attendant, but when she's home Shelly tries to build a sturdy relationship with her thirteen year old daughter. Shelly is excited to have a break from being a flight attendant for Christmas and returning after the new year, so she can finally have some time to spend with Lilly. Lilly and Shelly were literally the cutest mom and daughter duo. Brad Collins has just one Christmas wish this year: to find a real home. Brad has just retired from the Marines and is ready to start his journey of civilian life. Brad lost both of his parents before he joined the Marines, he misses that sense of belonging and family. Brad and Shelly met on a connecting flight to Maryland, Shelly and Brad kept bumping into each other and learned they grew up in the same town. When Shelly learns that Brad has just retired from the Marines and doesn't have a place to stay for Christmas, Shelly offers Brad the in-law apartment above her garage until he's ready to get up on his own two feet and he starts his new job after the new year, but Shelly is also doing this for the extra income. Brad is so grateful for Shelly, but he's willing to do anything he can to help Shelly out, including stepping up and helping with this year's Christmas pageant. Brad didn't really want to join the Marines, but he felt like he had to. Ugh, my heart instantly goes out to all the people in this book. I loved all of the characters, except Carl of course. I didn't expect to sob going into this book, but it truly destroyed my heart. Katie Eagan Schenck, you owe me a few boxes of tissues, but thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for writing such a beautiful, heart touching story. The batches of cookies that Shelly and her family baked? YUM!!!!!! I can't forget about all the delicious treats, they all sounded so delicious. I never wanted to jump into a book so fast and hug all of the characters. I was instantly hooked to the story, it just kept drawing me in with every single page turned. When I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was all wrong, the twists and turns just kept coming at me. A Home For Christmas will be a book I won't forget for a while to come. In my opinion, this book deserves way more than five stars, if a book can make you smile and cry at the same time, it's golden and a keeper. ...more |

Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn was such a cute festive holiday novella. I was hooked from the very first page and had to finish this book in one sitting. Before I even picked up this book, the title itself had me in giggles. Resting Scrooge Face is more than just an adorable cover and title, it's about mistaken identities, second chances, and finding holiday cheer. The only problem I had was I wanted more of this book, it's about seven chapters long, but Meghan Quinn wrote it like a whole novel, there weren't any missing parts, it was just perfect, but I just wanted more of this lovely little story. Even though this is a Christmas novella and some people will feel glum during the holiday season, this book will leave a smile on your face and your heart feeling gooey and warm. This was my first book by Meghan Quinn, but I instantly fell in love with her writing style, so I will definitely check out her other books. I loved the characters, they will definitely have your heart swelling. If you are in a reading slump, this is the perfect book to get you out. I was never once disappointed with this book, it made me feel all the emotions that were involved. After Caleb Butler broke Nola Bisley's heart years ago, Nola moved to the city to follow her dreams. After Nola finds out that her fiancé Chris won't be proposing to her, Nola decides to move back home to Bright Harbor, Maine to help her parents renovate her childhood home. Resting Scrooge Face starts off with a letter written by someone who isn't feeling the Christmas spirit after he discovers that "the one who got away" has moved back to Bright Harbor. After Nola finds out her fiancé won't be proposing this Christmas Eve, she wants nothing to do with Christmas, but that's so hard when she arrives back in her home town and it's bustling with Christmas cheer. Bright Harbor is very charming and cheery, so Nola's surroundings only worsen her sour mood. To make matters worse, Caleb, the boy who broke Nola's heart years ago, is all grown up and still living in Bright Harbor. Caleb owns the hardware store in town. While doing her best to avoid Caleb when she's out shopping with her Grandma Louise the ever hopeless romantic, Nola bumps into the local mailman, Arden who delivers Nola a mysterious letter. When Nola finds out that the mysterious write is a fellow Scrooge, she can't help but feel her spirit lifting because she now knows that someone feels the exact same way she does. When Nola writes back to her new pen pal, she signs off the letter as Ho Ho No. When Caleb receives a letter back, he's intrigued by the mystery sender. When Caleb signs off his letters, he ends it with Resting Scrooge Face. Nola and Caleb continue writing each other letters back and forth trying to figure out who they are. Nola and Caleb develop a friendly correspondence with these letters, but it quickly turns flirtatious. Caleb and Nola claim they can't stand each other, but soon find themselves entertained writing letters back and forth. I absolutely adored reading about Nola and Caleb, they were so cute. ...more |

The Christmas Clash by Suzanne Park was a bit more different than I expected. I was a bit disappointed with this book because I thought it was going to be about Christmas, the only Christmas thing that was involved was that one of the main characters works at a Santa Village in the mall, but that's about all you are going to get with Christmas being involved. Don't go into this book expecting cutesy reindeer, ugly Christmas sweaters, snowball fights, and other Christmas festivities. Despite the mishaps, this book was still fun to read overall. My only thing I would recommend, don't go into this book with very high expectations. If you just want to laugh, then I recommend this book for you. The Christmas Clash made me laugh numerous times, the bickering and banter between the two main characters was just on point. Despite my high expectations, this book was still enjoyable, I just don't recommend you thinking you're going to get all the Christmas festivities you bargained for. These are just my opinions and how I felt about this book, don't let this review stop you from picking up this book. Let me just say, the cover is adorable. Stop, this book was so cheesy, I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!! Merry Ex-Mas written by Courtney Walsh was absolutely hilarious, I can't even count how many times this book made me laugh. There's nothing better than a book making you laugh out loud, and no one knowing why until they read that book. When there's good chemistry and banter between the characters, you know that book immediately deserves five stars, but if a book makes you laugh numerous times, then it deserves more than five stars, but unfortunately goodreads only has five stars. I was so excited to get my hands on this book, I didn't want it to end, but boy, I devoured this book like homemade chocolate chip cookies. It's not even Thanksgiving yet, and now I want it to be Christmas after reading all these wonderful books. Courtney Walsh has become my favorite author for Christmas books. If you want to laugh and smile so much while reading a book, then I highly recommend you grab a copy of this amazing story. Merry Ex-Mas needs to be turned into a Hallmark movie immediately. I'll warn you before hand, don't read this book on an empty stomach, there's too many tasty treats that will have you craving them all. OH MY GOSH!!!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK WITH MY WHOLE HEART. Authentically Izzy written by Pepper D. Basham was such a fun, witty, and hilarious story. I want to thank one of my goodreads friend, Dab for reviewing this book, if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have found this book. I loved every minute of this book, it made me laugh more times than I can count. The only thing that didn't sit well with me was the love triangle in the beginning, but Pepper D. Basham made it where cheating wasn't involved. I don't know how I feel about a book being written in the form of e-mails and text messages, but this book confirmed that I love it. I didn't want this story to end anytime soon, but I wanted to know what was going to happen between the two main characters. I laughed so hard at time, I had tears streaming down my face. This was my first book by Pepper D. Basham, I instantly fell in love with her writing, so i'm definitely going to read her other books. Authentically Izzy is a book about devoted Christians, so there's a lot of talk about faith, church, and God, as a Christian myself, I appreciate an author writing about this. If a book doesn't make you laugh as much as Authentically Izzy did, then it's not worth five stars, but boy, I was laughing so much. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND THOMAS NELSON- FICTION FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!! Like I said before, Authentically Izzy is a book about devoted Christians so there's no steamy scenes, just a few kisses here and there. Izzy Edgewood is a wannabe book store owner, a Lord of The Rings lover, and a quote queen. After a few failed relationships, Izzy hasn't seen the dating world in a long time, but now she's ready for prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet. But, it's hard for Izzy to fall in love with a real human when she's been living in a world of fictional characters. Josephine, Izzy's cousin, makes Izzy a profile on a dating website, Heart-To-Heart, where Izzy could possibly find her true love. Authentically Izzy is a book that consists of e-mails and text messages between Izzy, her cousins, Josephine, Penelope, and Luke. This book was so beautiful is so many ways, but the cover is even more beautiful. As a quote queen, Izzy had so many heart touching quotes that will sit with me for a while. Izzy, I love you, you deserve the absolute world, and everything more. To Izzy's shock and maybe even suspicion, Josephine's plan is working. Soon, Izzy comes in contact with Brodie. Brodie is a Hobbit loving person who loves books just as much as Izzy. Izzy doesn't really believe Brodie for a while, she thinks it's her cousin Josephine she's been messaging back and forth with. Izzy lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, while Brodie lives an ocean away. Izzy and Brodie communicate through Heart-To-Heart and soon start writing e-emails to each other. After months of communicating through e-mails, and video chats, Izzy and Brodie decide to visit each other. Izzy has a fear of flying, due to losing both of her parents in an airplane accident. Is their shared love of books, family, and correspondence enough for Izzy to overcome her fear of flying? Izzy has had such a hard past, but despite that I loved her character. Okay, okay, I wish this book had a playlist of songs that go along with the story. I don't know who I love more, Brodie, or Izzy's cousin, Luke. They were both sweet, and loving gentlemen. In my opinion, Luke was more like a brother to Izzy. After reading, Authentically Izzy, and meeting all the side characters, I would love for Pepper D. Basham to write a book about Luke. The e-mails between Izzy, Luke, and Penelope had me giggling non-stop. Izzy's love of quotes started rubbing off on Brodie and Luke, but when they tried to comeback with quotes for Izzy, it left a smile on my face. After reading this book, my face hurts from smiling and laughing so much. Thank you, Pepper D. Basham for writing such a beautiful story. If you love laughing while reading a book, then this book is meant for you. I fell in love with the story, and all of the side characters. As I said before, I didn't know how to feel about a book in e-mail form, but boy was I wrong, I love it so much. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. ...more |

I thought I was going to like this book way more, but unfortunately I didn't. When I read the blurb for A Million Miles Away written by Lara Avery, it said it was for fans of Nicholas Sparks, as many of you know, I love Nicholas Sparks, so I knew I had to grab this book, but it didn't meet those expectations. Maybe as you get older you don't connect with YA book characters anymore, I don't know, but I just felt like this book fell flat. This book did touch me in a little way though, one of our main characters lost her sister, as an older sister, I love my little sister more than anything, I couldn't even imagine a world without her, but other than that I just felt no connection to the book. Maybe it was the cheating trope, maybe it was just a slow book, I have no clue. I have never read a book before this one by Lara Avery, but I might read her other books in the future. Don't let this review stop you from reading this book, it just wasn't for me. Kelsey and Michelle Maxfield are identical twins, and seniors in high school. Kelsey and Michelle don't always see eye to eye, but they are sisters and love each other no matter what. Michelle and Kelsey look identical, but they are very different from each other. Michelle is a free spirited artist, she flits from one guy to the next, where as Kelsey is the captain of the dance team and love her college boyfriend, Davis. Michelle's recent boyfriend, Peter is a soldier who is recently deployed to Afghanistan. Kelsey always thought their parents favored Michelle because she was always the smart one. Despite their differences, Michelle and Kelsey can't live without each other, but everything changes instantly when Michelle's family gets word that she's found dead. Kelsey never thought she would lose her sister so soon, it's not fair, they had their whole lives planned ahead. Michelle dies in a car accident. Michelle was about to drop Peter off at the airport to deploy to Afghanistan. When it's dinnertime with her parents, Kelsey is questioned about where Michelle is, so Kelsey starts texting Michelle when she hasn't heard from her since that morning. Kelsey doesn't want to think of the worst thing imaginable, but she can't help it when Michelle doesn't return home. When Michelle is found dead, Kelsey is left without her other half, their family copes differently from the death of Michelle, Kelsey cries alone but she carries on with her life, their parents start a support group for those who have lost a loved one. Kelsey is the only one who knows about Michelle's boyfriend, Peter. Kelsey continues on with school, and being the captain of her dance team, but she starts taking a class that Michelle was interested in. As the only one who knows about Michelle's boyfriend, Peter, Kelsey takes it upon herself to find Peter and tell him the truth about what happened to Michelle. But when Kelsey finally connects with Peter online, the only way they can talk is through a video call, but Peter thinks that Kelsey is Michelle and he says that seeing her is the only one thing keeping him alive. Caught up in the moment, Kelsey can't bear to break Peter's heart with the truth, so Kelsey carries on with letting Peter believe that she is Michelle. Meanwhile, Kelsey is dating Davis, she takes a trip to Paris with Peter because he still thinks Kelsey is Michelle, they start touring Paris together, they kiss from time to time and tell each other they love each other. This bothered me, like I get Kelsey didn't want to break Peter's heart, but she was dating Davis and going around kissing Michelle's boyfriend, to me that's just flat out cheating. Kelsey keeps up the act, pretending she's Michelle, but soon Kelsey can't deny that she's falling hard for the one person she shouldn't be falling in love with. ...more |

The Christmas Wish written by Lindsey Kelk is such a perfect book for the Christmas/winter holiday. As many of you know, I have had trouble with time traveling books, but I finally found one that I absolutely loved. I was torn between four stars because the story was a bit slow at first, it took about one hundred pages to actually get into the time traveling plot. I decided to give it five stars because the story got much better which made up for the time to actually get into the story. I loved Lindsey Kelk's writing style, I love how she included real life issues in this book such as failed relationships, not perfect families, and career struggles. The cover is so cute, which let's be honest, made me want to read this book. There's a bit of romance, but not much, it mostly deals with family drama around the Christmas holiday. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas, good/funny banter, and family drama. There is a splash of the cheating trope, which i'm not a fan of, but I still loved this book so much. I didn't want this book to end, but I really wanted to know what was going to happen. Mentions of Taylor Swift made this book even better!!!! Is it possible for it to be Christmas every day, again, again, and again? Gwen Baker has had quite the year, freshly single after catching her ex-boyfriend with his receptionist, suspended from her law firm for throwing a stapler at someone. Gwen worked long hours at this law firm, and at the time her boyfriend at the time said it was totally okay, that he's always proud of her, but when Gwen started cancelling plans and family celebrations, he started to lose love for Gwen, my only problem with this book is why couldn't he break if off with Gwen, why did he have to go and cheat with his receptionist? Gwen and her family took in her cousin, Manny when they were young children because Manny's dad died, and his mom abandoned him after the funeral. After Gwen experiences all these mishaps, a family Christmas could be exactly what she needs, fresh country air, piles of present under the Christmas tree, festive films such as Elf, The Grinch, all the traditional Christmas movies. When Gwen's parents interfere in her love life, fighting with her sister all the time, and an awkward run in with the boy crush next door, Dev, Gwen is grateful Christmas only comes once a year. When someone in Gwen's family makes a wish with the sixpence that's always found in her mom's Christmas pudding, Gwen wakes up to discover that she has to relive Christmas day all over again, and again, and again. Gwen does her best to grant the wish that has been made, but she starts questioning her loved ones on who made the wish and why. As Gwen tries to grant this wish, she begins to realize that even the people closest to her have secrets of their own, but just because Gwen's heart is broken, doesn't mean it can't be fixed with just a little Christmas magic. As Gwen finds herself in this time loop, reliving Christmas day over and over again, she tries to explain to Manny what's going on with her, Gwen goes back to her ex-boyfriend for answers and hopefully win him back for the Christmas wish, but as Gwen is talking to him, she realizes she's better off without a cheating person. Gwen starts spending time with her childhood crush, Dev, but they each catch feelings for each other once they both learn they had crushes on each other. Gwen tries to start spending time with her sister, but they always seem to fight over something. After my luck with past time traveling books, i'm so happy I finally found one that I loved so much. I absolutely loved Lindsey Kelk's writing style, so i'll definitely read her other books in the future. I adored all the characters in this book, the banter was hilarious and made me laugh out loud numerous times, but it was also a bit depressing. Instead of Manny being Gwen's cousin, to me he was like a big brother figure to her. Please please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book, it definitely doesn't disappoint. As I was reading this book, I kept humming Christmas songs to make the mood even more Christmassy. If you still haven't read a Christmas book yet, now is your time to start. Despite this story starting off a bit slow, I still loved every minute of it. With the cold weather coming, this book just gets you even more in the mood for Christmas with the snowy cover. What would make this book even better would be a Christmas playlist, so I didn't have to think of Christmas songs on the top of my head to hum to while reading. Thank you for coming to my ted rant. ...more |

Tricked In October is the second book in the Pineridge series written by Starla Dekruyf. A much as I loved the first book of this series, I loved this one just as much. Tricked In October is a best friends-to-lovers trope. This book is so perfect for the fall season with fallish/Halloweenish vibes. I'll admit it, i'm a sucker for a pretty cover, Tricked In October has such a beautiful cover that just pulled me in and I wanted to grab this book even more. As much as I loved this series, I didn't want it to end, but I hope Starla Dekruyf comes out with more books for this wonderful series. Normally, the best friends-to-lovers trope doesn't work for me, but this one certainly didn't disappoint. The spice for this book was on point. With all the autumn vibes, how could you resist this book? I couldn't resist, as soon as I finished the first book, I had to run to this one. I loved all the characters, I loved the setting, once again, the banter between the two main characters had me laughing out loud. Please do yourself a favor, if you haven't read this beautiful series yet, do so as soon as possible. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND CITY OWL PRESS FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!! Kelsey O'Henry lost her husband, Ricky in a winter storm accident. Ricky and Kelsey had three children together, Zach, June, and their new baby, Charlotte. Kelsey never thought she'd lose her husband so soon, yet raising three children alone. After losing her husband in a winter accident, the thought of hosting a Halloween couples costume party is the furthest thing from Kelsey's mind. Raising three young children, managing O'Henry's Bar and Grill, and caring for her alcoholic mother, Kelsey has way more important things to worry about before hosting a Halloween costume party for couples. When Kelsey is in the bar's back office for employees only, Kelsey notices a stack of unpaid business loans that threaten the bar's existence. Kelsey has already taken out two loans to save the bar, but wants to take out another loan, but can't because that could jeopardize their family home. Kelsey doesn't want to risk losing their house, because that's a place for the children to remember their father, even though they are young children. Kelsey has an amazing group of friends willing to help save the bar, including her best friend, Davis, but Kelsey is so stubborn and won't take their money. Davis and Kelsey have been best friends since high school, Davis had feelings for Kelsey, but then she married Ricky and Davis let go of his feelings for her, but the two remained best friends. Davis Vance and his twin brother, Garrett Vance are known as the "Renovation Dudes", an HGTV show where they renovate houses. People who watch the t.v. show can't seem to tell Garrett and Davis apart. But, Garrett is the popular one, he loves having the cameras in his face, and the women of Pineridge along with tourists adore Garrett. Davis is the complete opposite, Davis hates having the cameras in his face, he misses the days when the cameras weren't rolling in his face and following him around. When word gets out, and Davis learns that Kelsey could lose O'Henry's at the end of the fall season, Davis sees it as an opportunity to not only help out Kelsey, but as a way out of renewing his HGTV contract. But lately, there's just been one problem, as Davis and Kelsey have been spending more time together, Davis's feelings for Kelsey have been less friendly, and more romantic. Davis has a dog, Cooper who seems to be Davis's protector, but Cooper seems to even be friendly with Kelsey. Kelsey decides to have the Halloween costume party at the bar as a way of saving the business, but on the night of the bar's Halloween party, Kelsey and Davis can no longer ignore their desires. But there;s only one minor mistake, a rumor starts going around after the night of the Halloween party. Davis and his twin brother, Garrett dress up as the same character, Kelsey and Davis decide to do the deed after everyone leaves the party, but the next morning, Davis goes into a local bakery in his Halloween costume, and people think it's Garrett, so people start a rumor that Kelsey and Garrett did the deed after the party, but Kelsey and Davis both know it wasn't Garrett. ...more |

This book was so perfect for the Christmas holiday. It gave me all the winter vibes with snow, snowmen, snowball fights, hot chocolate, family and friends, ugly Christmas sweaters, so what's not to love about this book? I absolutely loved every minute of this story. Eight Days of Christmas is the first book in the Pineridge series written by Starla Dekruyf. This book made me laugh out loud numerous times, but it also kind of made me feel bad for one of our main characters. I have never read a book written by Starla Dekruyf before this one, but it certainly won't be my last. It was so swoon worthy, the banter between the two main characters had me dying of laughter. If you are looking for a good rom-com with second chances, then this is the book for you. I was never once bored with this book, it either had me giggling, smiling, or cheering on the characters. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book, grab yourself a warm fuzzy blanket, a drink of your choice, and just plop down on the couch. Eight Days of Christmas just screams Hallmark movie alert at me. Isabella Whitley left her hometown of Pineridge, Colorado to pursue her dreams in New York City. Isabella left Colorado without looking book, she left her high school sweetheart, Leo Hoffman, her entire family without a word of why she was leaving, Isabella just upped and left. In New York, Isabella works for The New Yorkers, I believe where she writes and publishes articles (I don't exactly remember, don't come at me). In New York, Isabella meets Harrison, her current boyfriend, but Isabella and Harrison decide to take a break from each other and put their relationship on hold, Isabella moved into a different apartment with two of her friends. Ready or not, Isabella is returning back to Pineridge, Colorado after being away for ten years for her sister, Norah's wedding. Isabella wonders why her sister wants to have a Christmas wedding. When Isabella returns to Pineridge and it brings back memories, she wonders if she regrets leaving and never looking back. Do you think Isabella is in the wrong for leaving her family and friends without looking back? Isabella wants in and out of Pineridge unscathed, which is very unlikely. Now, back in Pineridge, Isabella must explain to her family and Leo why she left and never looked back. The only person who knows why Isabella left, is Isabella herself, which will be revealed in the book. Leo Hoffman, is frosty, striving, and trying to forget Isabella, but is miserably failing to do so. Isabella is flying to Colorado from New York for her sister's wedding, but a snowstorm intercepts with the flights, once at the airport trying to get onto another flight as soon as possible, Isabella and Leo run into each other, and now need to share a car to get back to Colorado in time for the wedding. Since Leo's brother is marrying Isabella's sister, Leo is forced to celebrate Eight Days of Christmas with Isabella and her family. Eight Days of Christmas is a tradition where they perform a different holiday activity each day leading up to December twenty-fifth. Soon, Isabella and Leo's close proximity brings back memories, and the inability to keep their hands off one another. Isabella confesses to Leo that she returned back to Pineridge, but no one knew about that, but Leo's mother who passed away shortly after Isabella returned back and immediately left. Isabella and Leo pretty much did everything together growing up, but when Isabella suddenly left without a word after graduating high school, Leo was heart broken. Fast forward to Norah and Leo's brothers wedding, there's only one problem, Isabella's ex-boyfriend, Harrison unexpectedly shows up at the wedding, and Isabella faces a difficult choice. Will Isabella listen to her heart or her head? Isabella must decide, once and for all, where she truly belongs, either go back to New York after the wedding or stay in Pineridge, Colorado. Honestly, after reading this book and learning about Harrison, to me he is self centered and ignorant. I actually felt sorry for Isabella for having to put up with a self centered boyfriend. Onto book two now!!!!! ...more |

DNF at 40%. I tried to give this book a try, but it just wasn't for me, so for now, i'm going to dnf it, maybe i'll pick it back up in the future, I don't know yet. I really wanted to love this book, because many of my goodreads friends know I LOVE CHRISTMAS BOOKS, I don't know if it was the writing style, slow paced, or the sci-fi, fantasy genre, but I just couldn't get into the story. The Naughty Or Nice Clause by Kate Callaghan is a two star for me. Many people might disagree with me for not finishing it and rating it two stars, but that's totally okay, we are all allowed to have our own opinions. The cover is so beautiful and gave me all the Christmassy vibes, so i'm sad I couldn't love this book more. This was my first book by Kate Callaghan, but i'll definitely give her other books a go in the future, and hopefully have better luck with those. I feel horrible for not finishing this book because i'm a sucker for a Christmas book, but I couldn't fathom myself to read any further for now. Don't let this review stop you from picking up this book, this is just my opinion, you all may have better luck than I did, and I can't wait to hear all of your thoughts. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND CALLAGHAN WRITER FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!! Lyla and her family own a toy company that has been in their family for generations. OH MY GOSH!!!!! WHAT THE HECK DID I JUST READ?! Five Survive written by Holly Jackson is one of the best thrillers I have ever read. I have never read a book written by Holly Jackson before this one, but oh my goodness, I'm so happy I chose this book to be my first by this author because it was just phenomenal. Is it a good idea to read a crazy thriller before going to sleep? Probably not. Did I still read this book before going to sleep? Yes, damn right I did. At the beginning of this book, it started off a bit slow, but as I kept reading it just got better and better. I was instantly hooked and couldn't put this book down. Please do yourself a favor and read this book asap. Please check TW'S before reading this book: dark thoughts, blood, gun violence, shooting etc. Despite never having read Holly Jackson before, when I saw the cover and read the blurb, I knew I had to grab this book quickly. Five Survive left me holding my breath, it felt like I was on one of those crazy roller coaster rides, it left me gasping for air, it left me on the edge of my seat the entire time, the twists and turns just kept coming at me from all different directions. THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND RANDOM HOUSE CHILDREN'S, DELACORTE PRESS FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!! Five Survive takes place in the span of eight hours, six friends, and one sniper or so they think.... Eighteen year old Red and her group of friends Maddy, Oliver, Reyna, Arthur, and Simon are on a road trip in an RV, heading to the beach for spring break. Due to Red having no money for a plane ticket for this group of friends to fly, they decide to take an RV from Simon's uncle. Growing up, Maddy was always there for Red, they are like two peas in a pod, Maddy is like a savior to Red. February 6th, 2017 was the day that changed Red's life forever. Red's mom was the captain for the police department in the town they lived in, Red and her mom were having an argument while her mom was on a call, Red told her mom she hated her, but those words were the last thing Red ever said to her mom, the next thing that happens, Red's mom is shot in the back of the head two times. Red lives with guilt everyday for having those words "I hate you" being the last words she ever said to her mom. Ever since losing her mom, Red's dad took it really hard, he started taking up an alcohol addiction. There was no food in the house, bills started not being paid. It's a long drive, but spirits are high in the RV. That is, until the RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Red and Arthur get blamed for giving Reyna the wrong directions and ending up where they are. There's no mobile reception and nobody around to help this group of friends. Due to no cell service, there's no way to use their GPS, so Red and Arthur give the directions for where to go, and that's how they end up in the woods. As the wheels of the RV are shot out one by one, and emotions running high, Maddy, Red, Oliver, Reyna, Simon, and Arthur realize that this is no accident, there's a sniper out there in the dark watching them and the sniper knows exactly who they are. Someone in this group of friends has a secret that the sniper is willing to kill them for. A game of cat and mouse plays out as the group of friends desperately try to get help and work out which person in the group is the target. Buried secrets are forced to come out in this claustrophobic RV and tensions in the group will reach deadly force, not everyone in this group will survive the night. As you think you know the answers already, you are probably wrong. Twists and turns will just keep coming at you. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book, I thought I had all the answers, but boy was I wrong. I didn't know who to side with, I didn't know who to believe as stories were being shared of who the target could be. My heart broke for Red as she was sharing the story of how she lost her mom and the last words that were ever shared between them. The descriptions were so tough to read at times, so just be aware. Holly Jackson certainly knows how to keep her readers second guessing. Holly gave each of the characters their own unique personalities and secrets. As I finished reading this book, I still don't know what to think, other than that I absolutely loved every minute of it. I'm sure many of us has used or heard the "f" word before, but if you don't feel comfortable with the word, just skip over it because it's used numerous times in this book. I didn't want this book to end anytime soon, but I wanted to know which member in the group had the secret the sniper was willing to kill them for. ...more |

Love Always, Christmas by Karen Schaler was such a festive, heart warming, and heart breaking Christmas story. I didn't know what I was going to think
Love Always, Christmas by Karen Schaler was such a festive, heart warming, and heart breaking Christmas story. I didn't know what I was going to think about this book because I saw reviews saying it was like reading a t.v. script, but after I read this book it was so much more than that. Love Always, Christmas is about family, second chances, spending the holidays with those you love. I was surprised to find that a Christmas book can be a mystery, which this book had a little bit of. I'm so happy I didn't let these other reviews stop me from reading this book, because I loved every minute of it. I mean, let's be honest, the cover truly caught my attention, it's insanely beautiful, and gives off all the Christmas vibes. Christmas lights/decorations, snow globes, snow, cold weather, ugly Christmas sweaters? HELLO, I NEEDED THIS BOOK!!!!! This was my first book by Karen Schaler and certainly didn't disappoint. After reading this book, I did some research on this author and found out she's a queen of Christmas book, i'll definitely be checking out Karen Schaler's other books in the future. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book because Christmas is right around the corner, YAY!!!! THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND HAWKTALE PUBLISHING FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!! Libby Larson's plan is to get Christmas over with as soon as possible. Libby lost her father in Afghanistan serving his country. Libby's father started a bunch of their Christmas traditions, but after losing him, Libby is determined to keep his traditions going to honor him. Libby also lost her mother, her only living family member, and now wants nothing to do with Christmas. After losing both of her parents, Libby is trying to save her parents house, but everyday something new comes up and Libby is running out of savings. Libby is a social media manager trying to save their family home, but with funds running low Libby doesn't know what to do. Trying to keep herself busy so she can ignore the sadness that comes with spending Christmas alone, Libby is working on her first big project since starting her own business, featuring "Christmas Kitty", a cat that goes viral all over social media with Christmas content. Libby lives in Evergreen Valley where Christmas is in full spirit. In Evergreen Valley, Libby is out going for a run one morning when she gets taken down by a big inflatable Santa Claus, this is where Libby meets Adam Thompson, Adam's parents just moved to Evergreen Valley and lives across the street from Libby. Libby and Adam start off on the wrong foot when Libby punches the inflatable Santa and then hits their inflatable reindeer with her car because the wind blew it in front of her car. Adam calls Libby a "inflatable killer", the banter between Adam and Libby had me laughing throughout the whole book. Libby works with her best friend, Tammi. When Libby and Tammi need to film a video for Christmas Kitty but he doesn't seem to enjoy this Christmas setup, so Libby has a whole new idea to change the setup, which actually does work, YAY!!! when Libby and Tammi are going through Libby's mother's Christmas decorations, an unopened Christmas card slips out. Libby goes to Holly Peak to find out who this twenty year old unopened Christmas card belongs to. When Libby arrives in Holly Peak, she learns that Adam is the town manager of Holly Peak. Even though Libby and Adam started on the wrong foot, Adam is the only person Libby can turn to, to help her find this mysterious person. Libby was always told she never had any other living family members, but when she finds out a family member sent this Christmas card years ago, Libby wonders why she was lied to her whole life. With secrets unraveling and getting help from Adam, Libby must join in on the quirky Christmas traditions Holly Peak has to offer. Holly Peak is in a contest with another little town to keep their title of the best Christmas town, Adam doesn't do social media, but since it's Libby's job, she comes up with all these hashtags to get more tourists to visit Holly Peak and win the contest. I loved and adored all these Christmas traditions, and now I want to visit Evergreen Valley and Holly Peak. ...more |

Maple Sugar Crush is the second and final book in the An Autumnboro Sweet Romance series written by Beth Labonte. I'll say it again, and i'll keep on
Maple Sugar Crush is the second and final book in the An Autumnboro Sweet Romance series written by Beth Labonte. I'll say it again, and i'll keep on saying it, BRING OUT THE ICED PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES!!!!! All the food that was mentioned in this book just sounded so delicious, so if you choose to read this book, don't read it without eating. Both of the books in this series are sweet, clean holiday romances. Both of these books take place in a small beautiful town of Autumnboro, New Hampshire. I loved every minute of this book, it was fun, sweet, quirky, and heartwarming. Maple Sugar Crush gave me all the feels of the fall festivities. All the characters are sweet, loving, and caring souls. I'm so sad this series has ended because it was one of the best fall books I have read this season, but now I can watch the Hallmark movies. If you haven't read this series, I totally recommend doing so because it was such a beautiful, heart touching story. Maple Sugar Crush is the perfect book for fall. Beth Labonte, you have my heart after writing this series. I wish there were more books to the An Autumnboro Sweet Romance series because the characters were so easy to fall in love with. Maple Sugar Crush continues with Kit and Amy owning the new inn that they built, but we don't see as much of them as we did in the first book. Now, we continue with Josie Morgan, the power ball winner who is now the owner of Pumpkin Everything, the store that Amy's grandma owned. Josie has so much money after being the winner of the power ball, but she doesn't care after her mother's words and encouragement of retiring, Josie just wants to give back to her small little town of Autumnboro, New Hampshire. Josie has learned the hard way that dating men, in her financial situation will only lead to heart break. My heart absolutely broke for Josie after she told the story of how her ex-boyfriend Dean, was such a sweet man, but they went on vacation together and he just up and left with a ton of Josie's money. Josie, Amy, Kit, and Riley truly made my heart melt, they are such sweet people that I want to meet. The previous year, Josie went home for Thanksgiving dinner, but it didn't turn out the way Josie hoped for, her mother kept trying to set her up with someone to date. This year, Josie is content with being single, and now she is unwilling to face another lineup of gold diggers, for this Thanksgiving dinner, Josie opts to stay behind in Autumnboro and host a free meal to those who are alone for Thanksgiving dinner. Josie has had a crush on Riley Parker, Kit's brother for a while now, but Josie doesn't know if Riley feels the same way about her. Last Thanksgiving dinner, Josie's whole family just wanted her money, but she's way too sweet to put her foot down. When Josie's whole family suddenly shows up in Autumnboro, faking a relationship with Riley seems like the only way to make it through the holiday season since her mother doesn't get the hint that Josie is perfectly happy being single. Like every other man Josie has dated, Riley is only interested in her money. If Riley agrees to fake a relationship with Josie, she'll be more than happy to write him a check. Riley is obsessed with Pokemon Go, so when a trip to Japan for a Pokemon Go event comes up, Riley decides to bite the bullet and ask Josie for money, Josie will only give Riley the money if he's willing to help her out. After a little bit of this fake relationship, Riley turns a corner, and Josie realizes that he's not after her money, Riley just doesn't know how to let go of his phone and share his feelings with Josie. After a little bit, I found myself loving Riley. Maple Sugar Crush just left a smile on my face, at times my heart broke for Josie. Let me just say, the Maple Sugar Crush just sounded so delicious, I need to find a recipe for it because YUM!!!!! I don't want to be a debby downer, but Josie's mother annoyed me so much. She pretty much controlled Josie's dating life. But, I still loved the book so much. ...more |

BRING OUT ICED PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES AND PUMPKIN SCENTED CANDLES!!!!! Pumpkin Everything is the first book in the An Autumnboro Sweet Romance series wr
BRING OUT ICED PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES AND PUMPKIN SCENTED CANDLES!!!!! Pumpkin Everything is the first book in the An Autumnboro Sweet Romance series written by Beth Labonte. What better time of the year is there to read a book about Halloween, carving pumpkins, pumpkin scented everything, crisp crunchy leaves, and beautiful fall colors? After I started reading this book, I learned that it was turned into a Hallmark movie, so you know what that means? I have to run to it. I absolutely loved everything about this book, it was so perfect for the fall season. Pumpkin Everything just screams fall vibes and Friday night lights. I fell in love with the cover, I mean, YUM!!!!! But once I started reading, I fell in love with this quirky little town and all the characters. This was my first book by Beth Labonte, but i'll definitely be sure to read her other books. Grab yourself a copy of this book, a warm fuzzy blanket, any warm or iced beverage, and just dive into this story because once you start, you won't want to stop. The characters were very lovable, the setting just felt gorgeous to me. Amy Fox is a horror novelist, she called off her fall themed wedding, and is now left with a broken heart, and a case of writers block. After calling off her wedding, Amy hates anything pumpkin spice or anything averted to pumpkin scented. One day, Amy receives a phone call from her mother that her grandfather broke his wrist driving through Dunkin' Donuts, like, literally drove straight through the front windows, five hundred miles away in her hometown of Autumnboro, New Hampshire. Amy is now living in Pennsylvania, but Amy knows she must return to Autumnboro to check up on her grandfather and make sure that he's back on his own two feet because if she doesn't her grandfather may be moved into assisted living, and her childhood home will be put on the market. Nothing in Pennsylvania is holding Amy back anymore. Knowing she must return back to her hometown, Amy worries about the only thing worse than pumpkin spice, Kit Parker. Amy and Kit were childhood best friends, each other's first love, and Amy's only reason for leaving Autumnboro in the first place. Amy and Kit were seniors in high school when Kit lost his mother. Kit was always so happy before the passing of his mom, he and Amy basically did everything together. After Kit lost his mom, he turned into a completely different person, he never wanted to do anything, he became depressed. Fast forward a little bit, their senior prom came around the corner, Kit and Amy were supposed to go together, but Kit's depression stopped him. No matter what Amy did it was never enough for Kit, Amy tried everything in her willpower to be there for Kit, but nothing worked. After high school, Amy left town without telling anyone why she was truly leaving. As Amy returns home, she learns so much about Kit. As Amy and Kit reconnect, there's a possibility of a second chance for these two, if only.... Kit wasn't holding onto a secret just could just unravel everything. Amy lost her grandmother, so the only thing keeping her grandfather in her childhood home is his connection to Amy's grandma. Amy's grandma, owned Pumpkin Everything, a little store in Autumnboro, New Hampshire where they sold everything pumpkin. At times this book broke my heart, but it left a smile on my face at the end. It made me giggle so many times I couldn't even count. I loved all of the characters, even at times when I wanted to slap one of them across the face for secrets. Amy has a decision to make, either to stay in Autumnboro or return to Pennsylvania. I often found myself cheering on these characters. After reading this book, I want to take a trip to Autumnboro, New Hampshire and meet all these lovely people. On to book two!!!!! ...more |
