"We could devote our lives to making sense of the odd, the inexplicable, the coincidental. But most of us don’t, and I didn’t either.”
"Come Closer" by Sara Gran is one of those books that grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go until the end. Although im not the biggest fan of horror but my brother always spoke so highly of it that I decided to give it a try. And I must say, it completely blew my mind. The story left me questioning the meaning of my existence in a way few books ever have.
Despite its brevity, the writing and execution are nothing short of masterful, drawing you in with each carefully crafted word. The way Gran builds tension and explores complex themes is truly remarkable. The plot is compelling and thought-provoking, making you reflect deeply on your own life and experiences. This book may be short, but it packs an incredible punch, making it a memorable and impactful read.
This book centers around Amanda, an ambitious architect working on her biggest project to date, the Fitzgerald House. She hopes this project will enable her to leave her current employers, Fields and Carmine, and establish her own business. Amanda is happily married to Ed, and they live together in a loft apartment. Their peaceful life begins to unravel with the onset of a sinister tapping sound that never seems to stop, which is revealed to be the first sign of demonic possession.
As the story unfolds, we witness Amanda's steady decline. Her personal and professional lives begin to spiral out of control, and she becomes increasingly erratic and disturbed. The novel delves deeply into Amanda's disintegration, highlighting how the possession affects every aspect of her existence. The sinister tapping and other eerie occurrences create a chilling atmosphere, making the readers feel Amanda's growing sense of dread and helplessness.
This was genuinely one of the creepiest, scariest, and most realistic demon possession novels I've ever read. It grips you from all angles as you witness Amanda's chilling descent into chaos. The horror is visceral as you see her unraveling, each page turning up the intensity. The gory scenes are vividly described, and the dialogue feels disturbingly real, making the characters unforgettable. The eerie atmosphere is masterfully crafted, leading up to an insane and unforgettable ending. This novel isn’t just a great read; it's an experience that lingers long after you've finished it.
°˖➴ "Overall, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful demonic horror novel. It’s captivating, easy to read, and something that will haunt you for years to come." ...more

"Sometimes I Lie" by Alice Feeney is a page-turning psychological thriller about a woman named Amber Reynolds who wakes up in a hospital unable to move, speak, or open her eyes. As the story unfolds, the reader is taken on a journey through Amber's past and present, as she struggles to untangle the secrets and lies that have led her to this point.
Alice's writing was so good and the way she carried this entire trope of "UNRELIABLE NARRATOR" was exceptional. I was hooked on this book from page one and honestly i didn't expected anything less from Alice.
Although i found it pretty slow in the beginning but as the story goes on, it becomes more and more intriguing.
The plot was full of surprising twists and turns, and the characters were so complex and flawed, making up for a suspenseful and engaging read. The book also touches on themes of mental health, trauma, and relationships, adding depth to the story.
Overall, it was a well crafted and phenomenal thriller that kept me guessing until the very end....more

This thriller is a masterpiece – it had me hooked from the first page, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the wee hours of the night. It's the kind of book you can't put down even if you try. The suspense and intrigue are simply unparalleled. This author consistently delivers, and this book lived up to my high expectations. The plot twists, storyline, and writing were impeccable. What truly stood out was how the author skillfully explained quantum superposition and the concept of the multiverse.
In this intriguing tale, Jason Dessen, a physicist, abandons his dream of creating a quantum superposition object visible to the human eye to build a family with the love of his life. However, his life takes a bizarre turn when he's abducted and wakes up in an alternate reality—one of the multiverses in superposition. "She was his gravity, his fucking planet, and he was lost without her"
Well, this book picks up right where "The Predator" ends, and to say it was amazing would be an understatement. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters, but the writing style just wasn’t my type. And only because of that, I'm not giving it a full 5 stars.
In this book, Tristan and Morana are on a quest to unmask the mysterious "Reaper" behind all the chaos. Alongside this thrilling pursuit, their love story unfolds beautifully. While the tension between them was palpable in the first book, it skyrockets in this one. I adored how they fiercely stood up for each other and always had each other's backs. The chemistry between them was simply electric.
╰┈➤ Tristan Caine
This man needs to be protected at all costs. Witnessing his transformation from an emotionally guarded individual to someone who is making an effort to be vulnerable was truly unexpected. While men in love can do all sorts of things, seeing him change himself for the person he loves is the most profound of all. It's a testament to the depth of his feelings and the strength of their bond.
I have never encountered a character quite like Tristan. Quiet yet profoundly supportive, he goes above and beyond for this woman – caring for her, protecting her fiercely, cooking for her, and even washing her hair. While these actions might seem like the bare minimum, they feel extraordinary coming from Tristan. The character development in this book was incredibly well-crafted. Opening up his personal space and being vulnerable wasn't easy for him, yet he is willing to do everything for her. Moreover, he is never once intimidated by her intelligence; on the contrary, he finds it deeply attractive, which is a rare and refreshing trait even in real life.
"But I never, ever want you to not walk into a room and know that every part of me, fucked up man and the lost boy, belong to you."
╰┈➤ Morana Vitalio
At this point, I'm almost at a loss for words to describe this extraordinary woman. She embodies perfection in every sense. Intelligent, well-spoken, bold, and fiercely independent – she has it all. Yet, what truly stood out in this book was her immense courage. Despite grappling with her own trauma, she never once considered giving up on Tristan or their relationship. Instead, she poured her heart into making it work, often taking the lead and showing remarkable strength and commitment. Her unwavering dedication and efforts to nurture their bond make her an exceptional character, truly deserving of admiration.
Her fearlessness in speaking her mind was truly awe-inspiring. I mean, who else would have the guts to stand up to a mafia boss like Lorenzo Maroni and demand accountability for his despicable actions? She's a force to be reckoned with, a true embodiment of strength and integrity. I find myself at a loss for words when it comes to describing her – she's simply the complete package. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating delving deeper into her character in the other books.
"I'm not a victim. I'm vengeance, Mark my words, Mr. Maroni. I am going to make you pay - for every single scar you've put on Tristan; for every little hurt you inflicted on Dante; for banishing Amara from her home. And for all the girls who went missing."
╰┈➤ Tristan and Morana
Their relationship in this book was truly impressive. Despite my initial doubts, it exceeded my expectations. The progression felt genuine and well-paced, allowing the characters to build trust in each other naturally. What stood out to me was the authenticity in their interactions, as both characters made sincere efforts to understand and support one another. It was a refreshing portrayal of a developing bond that felt both relatable and heartfelt.
Tristan's decision to tattoo Morana's name on his ring finger, despite the obstacles preventing their marriage, spoke volumes about the depth of their connection. It was a gesture that resonated deeply, reflecting the complex emotions they shared, shaped by their turbulent pasts. Their story is one of profound significance, leaving an enduring imprint on my heart. I am certain that their characters will continue to occupy my thoughts long after I've turned the final page of their book.
"Your body, your life, your heart – they’re all mine now. Trust me to keep all of them safe.”
➳ Overall, if you're in need of a riveting read that will hold your attention from beginning to end, this book is your perfect pick. Enjoyy! ...more
