I'm just hoping years 4 and 5 wouldn't disappoint. It's sad that the complete Year 4 collection won't be out till next year and no news for Year 5 so I'll just be reading them per volume. Really great that Zatanna and Raven played a huge role here!...more

Darth Vader will always be one of, if not the most, iconic figure of Star Wars. This new graphic novel series aims to give us a background of Vader's past. It starts off where Episode III ends. This first volume generally shows how Vader got his lightsaber. It also gives a bit of information on how he joined the dark side (although this is common knowledge already). This graphic novel is a lot of fun and I can't wait to read more of it. To be honest, Darth Vader is not even my favorite villain of the Star Wars franchise. Darth Maul is my favorite but we don't get to read/watch/hear much about him, unlike Vader. Vader comes in second though, it's great how we see his early dark side days here in this series. I can't wait to read more.
5/5. What a great first graphic novel read of 2018! The artwork is one of my favorites out there coupled with a terrific plot. You can't go wrong with this new series! ...more

I know how Marvel is trying to empower feminism by blurting out important female characters and Wolverine X-23 is just one of them. X-23 can never replace Logan, but she's not a bad character at all. Needs a ton of development, but this is the first graphic novel I've read about her so there is room for improvement.
This graphic novel focuses on the four sisters who are clones of Wolverine. They escaped the lab and are still escaping the people who created them. The plot of this first volume isn't as interesting as I expected, but I deemed it as an introductory volume for the series. I'm really hoping that things would improve along the way.
The artwork is commendable. I have a few Marvel series that I hate because of the artwork, but thankfully this one didn't disappoint....more

She might even be my favorite female Marvel character alongside Jean Grey. This was the only graphic novel readily available to me, so I decided to give it a shot. It only succeeded in one thing, and it's to make me like Scarlet Witch a lot less than I did before.
The whole collection is a rollercoaster ride full of confusing twists and turns that didn't make sense. The collection didn't really showcase the real Scarlet Witch and her potentials. She has a huge potential but this collection put that potential to waste. She needs proper treatment, and I might just have to look elsewhere for that.
1.5/5 stars. Not the worst comic book collection out there, but it made me dislike a character that I really like. I hope I find another collection that can really showcase who Scarlet Witch is. Highly recommended to avoid this graphic novel....more

I tend to hate novels/graphic novels about the apocalypse because they tend to be repetitive and unsatisfactory. East of West has an interesting plot and great characters.
It's forgivable for the first volume to have a confusing plot. What made it confusing for this one is the terrible introduction. The writer should have done it better. The world is poorly introduced, thus it made the plot a bit confusing. What made up for that would be the ending and the characters. I really enjoyed the characters that the author created.
The plot is filled with violence. I really enjoy it when a western is violent, and all the head cutting just added to the positive aspects.
4/5 stars. Not the best graphic novel out there, but I'm intrigued as to how the plot will develop. I'm hoping the ending of this one isn't just a gimmick. Can't wait to read the next volume....more
