Such a quick read, very easy to lose yourself in the story. A bunch of highly unlikeable characters and some that I really did feel for. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, with a surprising ending. Very entertaining.
Nala is caught up at work and asks her best friend Jane to pick up her 4 year old daughter from school and meet her at the dentists. Only when Jane gets there, Florrie has already been collected. Where is she? Who has her? A parents worst nightmare. We slowly begin to get to know all the major players in this story, and their secrets. Of course nothing is straight forward.
Thanks to the author Miranda Rijks and NetGalley for the advanced copy to read. I do have some other books of Miranda’s on my kindle that I need to get to. Publishes on April 19th.

While this one was a little bit more far fetched, it was still a highly entertaining read. It had me at serial killer and amateur sleuthing and certainly deliver on both accounts.
Our main character Dee was interesting, very naive and trusting. After years in a mental hospital, she is now trying to have a normal life. But that isn’t easy when she was the subject of a popular true crime documentary. But now somebody she knows is being accused online of being the local serial killer, she decides to film her own true crime documentary to prove his innocence….but is he?
This book will keep you guessing until the very end. There were plenty of times that I doubted what was happening and who I believed to be the killer,

Wow this was dark. The author did such a great job of capturing the run down and desolate housing estate of Sundial Court that quite a bit of this story is set in. The abandoned homes, the over grown grass, a pretty place turned to rubble.
2 sisters, well, half sisters. Both police officers. Eleanor left Liverpool 5 years ago and vowed never to return. But a message from her former boyfriend and ex colleague Daniel and she races there to find him. She knows he is in trouble. Her half sister Krush, is not happy to hear that she is back. There is no love lost between these 2.
For a short book there is so much involved in this story. It took a while for me to get my head around just what was happening. It was very well done and the writing was fantastic.

It is a world of corruption, religion, drugs, prostitution and murder. A serial killer has been terrorising the area and now a doctor has been murdered on the NSW/Queensland border. Is this the next victim? At the same time, there is a missing woman who see,a to have disappeared without a trace.
I was immediately hooked. This book is inspired by real events and I was fascinated by the characters and the way the story played out. Police officers are meant to be the good guys, but in this case I didn’t know who could be trusted. The 80s setting before mobile phones and social media gave this story a difference to other police procedurals out there.
A page turner from the start, I highly recommend this book for the crime reader in your life. Thanks so much to Ultimo Press for sending me this book. The Strip is out now in Australia....more

This time we have a missing woman, a woman who is rich and has a dark and secretive past. I loved that nothing was as it seemed, and at just under 300 pages, I red this in an afternoon. I did pick the who but not the why, not completely, but that did not take away my enjoyment of the story. Each chapter left me needing more so I had to keep reading.

Just this year I picked up my first Elly Griffiths book and boy am I glad that I did. How have I gone so long without reading this amazing crime author. This book was just what I needed to get out of a semi book slump, nothing was appealing to me and I just wanted something good that I could get lost in.
It was wonderful to have a book that focused on Natalia, Edwin and Benny. DI Harbinder was there of course, but she was in the background. These 3 were the stars this time and I loved it. Hot on the case of a dead romance writer, they soon find themselves with many dead writers…. Coincidence? I think not. This book was fun to read, following the clues with these characters l of course I didn’t pick it ...more

I love Georgia Maguire I couldn’t download this ALC fast enough when I saw it available for December … thank you so much Libro.FM and Harper Collins. I love Georgia Maguire narrating this series, she brings Rhiannon to life.
Absolutely love this series. Sweetpea, aka Rhiannon Lewis is back and I was so happy!! She is now living in San Diego with her fiancée Raf, working as a receptionist and not killing anyone. And she is happy for the first time in her life, expect that she is not with her daughter. The world thinks she is dead, her new family don’t know the truth about her and life is pretty good. Until she feels the urge to kill again..
This book was funny, it was emotional and it made me smile. I liked to see Rhiannon happy after everything she has been through. This is the 4th book in the series so please start at the beginning and read them all, you won’t regret it.

I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book, aI just had to know. At first I thought this was going to be your typical missing girl story but it was far from it. I loved the true crime documentary storyline that helped to tell us what happened to Katy.
10 years ago, Katy disappeared on her way home from work. She hasn’t been seen since. Her mother, Grace, still holds out hope that she will come home, and agrees to be part of a documentary about her daughter’s disappearance. She hopes that it will bring about new leads so she can find her daughter. We hear the story from Hrace and Katy’s points of view as well as the documentary.
I thought the author did a fantastic job of showing the emotions and the fears of this left behind. Her mother’s sadness and hope felt so real, I was sad for her. The ending was nothing like ai was expecting and I loved it.

This time it was Halloween and it was ever so creepy. While I was reading it in broad daylight I was hearing all the noises the house makes and freaking myself out! The town seemed to go all out for decorations and it was hard to know what was real and what was fake.
This killer was intense and sadistic. The way he took his victims was chilling and got into my head. No showers for me while I am home alone! I liked that the whole team got involved on the case, one that really had them all stumped. It is nice to see Dave and Jenna as parents too. I would be getting out of Serial Killer Central though!!

She will talk to couples having so troubles in their relationships and newly divorced singles. Of course things start to go wrong and she goes viral for all the wrong reasons.

I recently read and enjoyed Canticle Creek, and was looking forward Another hard to put down, Australian rural crime fiction book from Adrian Hyland. I recently read and enjoyed Canticle Creek, and was looking forward to more from Jesse. The Wiregrass was an excellent crime novel, rich in mystery and the landscape played a huge role in the story.
In Canticle Creek, Jesse Redpath was fighting bushfires. Now she is working in the remote area of Satellite in Victoria. Wild weather has hit the region, strong winds, rain that is just not stopping and lightning all around. All hands on deck to rescue those getting into trouble with the weather. When a local man is killed first impressions are that it was a terrible accident. But something in Jesses mind tells her that it was deliberate and they are looking for a murderer. Former police officer, Nash Baker is soon arrested and charged with killing the man. Nash is somebody that Jesse has recently met and believes that he has been set up and that he is innocent. Of course, she has to look into it and find out who really did it and why, getting herself into trouble and danger along the way.
I loved the setting of this story, so many animals around. And there was a dog which always makes me happy. Being in the middle of the bush, losing power, small towns where everyone knows everyone’s business are some of my favourite storylines and they are all here. If you are a fan of Chris Hammer and Margaret Hickey books, give this one a try.

Audrey Lloyd, the elderly lady who owns the house that everybody wants, starts out to be a lonely, old lady who just wants some company. This change rather quickly once Terri comes to visit. It seems that Audrey has had a rough life, and has trouble with what is real. It was a sinister and dark story, beginning in the early 1980’s and jumping back through Audrey’s life. There is something about that house, that everyone wants to sell and become rich. It is a maze, easy to get lost and so much junk.

There Should HHow is this my first book by Nalini Singh? I loved the way this author writes and will absolutely be looking out for more of her books.
There Should Have Been Eight had every thing that I love in a thriller - a locked room mystery, isolated location, cut off from the outside world, a storm brewing, childhood friends having a reunion, remembering a lost one, strange things happening that they can’t explain… what more do you need?
This was a slow burning thriller, for the first half of the book at least. There was a lot of character development and scene setting, which the author did so well. You start to feel as if you are in the creepy, gothic mansion. The second half of the book is where the action revved up and it just kept going. It was twisty and shocking and ai couldn’t stop reading. I had no idea how it would end up.
