Having performed sexual assault exams in an emergency setting, I cringed. The trauma begins with the sexual assault but it surely doesn't end there.

But this is not just a story about the two halves of my brain. It's a masterfully told tale of those parents doing their very best for their children and one particularly special child making his/her way through a binary world. Humanizing. Thought provoking.
