I normally don't read chick lit but every once in awhile I take a chance on this genre. While reading Faking It I could imagine how funny this would be as an audiobook. Hearing the inflections in the voices would really bring the humor to life.
If you enjoy chick movies than this book will tickle your funny bone with the comical banter and situations.

HOT DAMN! LOVED IT!
THE DATING GAME questions with Dean and Allie: 1. I’VE HEARD YOU ARE PERFECT, DEAN. IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THESE RUMORS? ”Yeah. I am perfect. I need to remind myself of that more often.”
2. ALLIE, PRIOR TO GETTING TO KNOW DEAN WHAT WAS YOUR IMPRESSION OF HIM? ”If I’m being honest, I’ve never known what to make of the guy. He’s cocky, flirtatious… Superficial.”
3. COULD YOU SEE YOURSELF GETTING TOGETHER WITH HIM? ”He’s annoying and ridiculous and totally not my type.”
4. DEAN, YOU GIVE ALLIE SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO HANDLE HER BREAK-UP WITH HER EX. WHAT WAS THIS GREAT WISDOM YOU SHARED WITH HER? ”The best way to get over someone is to hook up with someone else. ASAP. Seriously, just find yourself a rebound. I volunteer as tribute.”
5. One last thing, Dean, how do you feel about shirts? ”I don’t like shirts.”
Now that you’ve gotten to know Dean and Allie a little better have fun reading about them in THE SCORE. I love this series and, at the moment, this book is my favorite of the series. I was sucked in by everything that makes a college romance good - the drama, the love-hate relationship, manwhores, relationship girls and jealousy. I loved when Allie would get stuck in her head she’d quickly realize she was over analyzing the situation and pull herself out of her “mental talk”. A lot of times the female characters can be annoying with the inner dialogue and Allie did a great job of catching herself in those moments and turning the inner babble off. The Score was just the right combo of all things that make NA genre entertaining.
The Score is my third book by Ms. Kennedy and after that ending I’m anticipating the next book in the series.

’For all the girls next door - and the boys who love them.’ I was all in when I read that dedication. The idea of the boy next door falling in love’For all the girls next door - and the boys who love them.’ I was all in when I read that dedication. The idea of the boy next door falling in love with the neighbor girl is iconic and one that has women saying, “Awe!”
”A simple story about a handsome prince, a good-hearted princess, and their sweet love.” Awe, doesn’t that sound lovely and all it needs is the magical - “They lived happily ever after.” As with any story nothing comes easy and especially second chances. Brent is the guy during his high school days that all the other males wanted to be and all the females fawned over. Now, that he’s in his early thirties and has become less of the ‘young and dumb’ stage and more of mature adult, he’s become a guy to be admired.
Kennedy, the girl next door, was more of the nerdy social circle during her high school years. Fourteen years has passed since she’s seen Brent and she’s back in town for work. Her first line of business is a criminal case against Brent’s young client.
The case these two are trying against each other hits close to home for me. It’s about a young teenage boy who feels unseen and does something drastic to get the attention of those around him. His actions were of the criminal nature but his intent wasn’t. It was like Ms. Chase knew my son’s friend who did something similar to the teenager in the story. This is the second book by Ms. Chase where a young male character has found himself brushing up against the law. The previous book had an even younger male who found himself pushing the boundaries with the law. As stated by many others besides myself… Ms. Chase knows the male mind quite well.
The second book, Sustained, remains as my favorite Emma Chase book written to date and this book comes in second place for favorites by Ms. Chase. I love the older characters, the witty banter, the intriguing story line, and most of all the male point of view. Thank you, Ms. Chase, for your continued pursuant in writing humorous renditions from male mind.
"We're not just a motorcycle club. We're criminals. And we're really fucking good at not getting caught."
I've been intrigued by Rebel since we got a glimpse of him in the Blood & Roses series. From that series we learned he was the President of a mc and not someone you wanted to make mad at you.
"I don't need an old lady. I need an equal who will still shoot someone in the face for me if I need them to."
After I read that part I knew I was out for being his old lady. My gun skills are lacking plus the whole outlaw life style probably isn't going to suit me. BUT ... good thing Sophie is feisty because she's giving Rebel a run for his money.
"Revenge is a selfish act. Retaliation for something. Vengeance is a different thing altogether. It's about obtaining justice, usually for someone who can't claim it for themselves."
The story centers around vengeance or as Sophie first sees it - revenge. Sophie has to decide if she wants to be part of the plan or not. Obviously there's more to the whole is it revenge or vengeance but once you read the story you'll get to decide for yourself.
The series is a spin off of Blood & Roses but you don't need to read B&R to enjoy this book. In this series, Dead Man's Ink, book 1 & 2 have been released. I haven't heard when book 3 will be released.

You can't buy very many things in life for $.99 and this one promised to give us a glimpse into an author I've been reading for the last 3 years life.
"Happy birthday. Welcome to eighteen." Shannon has a shitty 18th birthday. I remember my 18th birthday and what my life was like and I can honestly say I don't know anyone who had this type of upbringing. It made her into a tough girl- one who is just trying to graduate high school with as little drama as possible. Unfortunately, that's not what she gets.
"You're creepy, Mateo." Yea, I agree with Shannon that for the beginning of the book Mateo came off in a less desirable way for me. But once I saw his motives I got more on board. And yet my heart was still holding out for her friend, Sunday.
"Welcome to eighteen, Shannon... The age when life gets to kick your ass over and over and all you get to do is stand there and take it." My son turns 18 in 4 days. Let's hope his ass kicking is less dramatic than what Shannon endeared. *fingers crossed*
'Life isn't all or nothing, it's something in between.' I love that message this book brings to these characters. We don't get to pick the hand we're dealt but we do get to choose how we react to the situation. Watching Shannon grow and change gives hope to those out there feeling like life dealt them a crap hand. Hang in there! As Mateo said to Shannon, "I like you. Keep going."
’How could someone be both kind and cruel?’ If you’re a lover of forbidden romance than this book is for you. I love a good forbidden romance and t’How could someone be both kind and cruel?’ If you’re a lover of forbidden romance than this book is for you. I love a good forbidden romance and the majority, that I’ve read, have been teacher/student so to have a cop and a bad boy forbidden romance was a nice change of pace. And not only that but the cop was a woman which isn’t a common thing in the romance books I’ve read.
”We have nothing. We’re just a bunch of kids nobody gives a shit about.” Lee and his siblings had a rough upbringing which leads them to do things that are questionable in the name of survival. Yet, he’s a very loyal man who puts family first. Underneath his tough guy exterior he’s a lover. Seriously, what woman wouldn’t want that?!
”Lee, you’re too young for me.” “Karla, I’m perfect for you.” Awe, the younger guy with the “older” woman romance. Another theme I don’t see very often in my romance books. Granted it’s only 3 years so it’s not a major age gap but in Karla’s mind she might as well have been his older sister for how she felt about being older than him. I loved how Lee didn’t allow her to worry about the age gap.
”I love that about you.” “What?” When Lee spoke to Karla it was hard to focus on anything else going on around them because he really was a smooth talker. In one scene I totally forgot they were in a crowded bar because his words had me wanting to ravish him right there. Oh, by the way, Lee’s answer to Karla’s “What?” is, “How you act all tough, but as soon as I touch you, you melt and go all shy. It’s gorgeous.” *swoon*
I’ve read all of Ms. Cosway’s romance books except for one of her earlier romances so I think it’s safe to say she made me a lifetime fan of hers. If you need a good romance book look no further than Ms. Cosway's variety of unique tales.
Hearts of Blue is a standalone contemporary romance that tells the story of star-crossed lovers Karla Sheehan and Lee Cross, a police constable and the thief who steals her heart.

"The bearded, tattooed, mountain of man-muscle looks more like a biker than a football player. Rumor has it he’s a virgin, but she finds that hard to believe."
SAY WHAT? A hot dude who's a virgin?! GAME ON
A beard-related dare and one hot-as-hell kiss changes everything. Beards are in right now. Done right they can be hot. I saw it on the internet so it must be true. See the scientific evidence in this gif. [image] My high school daughter told me that her friend is dating a guy with a beard and that she likes the way it feels when they kissed. My daughter was gagging when she told me. I guess I don’t have to worry about her kissing any guys with a facial hair. *lol* I don't remember any boys in high school with a beard...they were still too baby-faced.
“I’ve been waiting two years for you to see me.” Fiona is Ivy’s younger sister (book 2 is Ivy’s love story). We’ve seen Fi and Dex in the previous books but never as a couple - more in passing. When the series starts Drew (book 1), Gray (book 2) and Dex are all playing college football and now they’re playing for the pro’s. Dex has been interested in Fi for two years but has never made his intentions known. Fi never took notice of him… granted during that time she had a boyfriend.
”I see Ethan Dexter; he shines for me.” Dex has been wanting Fi since the moment he saw her all those years ago. The women who’ve been interested in him, so far, have only wanted him as a way to fame and power. To avoid those type of women he’s been content to be a support and foundation for his friends. Not until he decided it’s time to let Fi know his intentions does this quiet giant come out into the light.

Isn’t that the way all great love stories start? And also usually end?” Awe, it does seem like some of the great love scenes happen in the rain. Levee and Sam’s story starts on a raining night on a bridge. Both of them are there for different reasons. Sam’s there to ponder life when he see’s Levee and wonders if she’s there to jump.
’My career was soaring while, personally, I was plummeting.’ Levee has everything a little kids dream of -> being rich and famous. But behind the glamour lives a girl who feels a missing connection with the world. Her nightly visits to the bridge create concern for Sam who at the time is just a stranger on that bridge. He reaches out to her to let her know she’s not alone if she’s struggling.
’I was sick of fucking fine. I needed something - anything - to be great.’ Sam has his own demons that haunt him. Under the exterior of his tattoos and cigarettes is a man who searching for “something.”
”Levee, I’d like to struggle with you.” By nature Sam is a caretaker. He holds other’s needs in high regard. He carries their burden on his shoulders. Those nights on the bridge prove what a good guy Sam is because once he lays eyes on Levee, without knowing who she is, he reaches out to her to make sure she's cared for.
’It’s just hard when your woman has Gibson [guitar] taste and a thrift store man.’ The relationship between the two of them started before either one knew who the other one was and once it got going it was with pure intentions these two fell for each other. It didn't matter that he wasn’t rich and she was because they liked the stripped down versions of each other. Money wasn't going to be a factor in their relationship.
Ms. Martinez fans will love this story. The banter in the book will have you smiling and Sam will make you swoon. Plus there are other characters in the book to love such as her friend, Henry.

I loved this book...it’s Ronin & Rainy’s love story.
For his ‘straight’ job, Ronin was a Hollywood stunt rider. As a stunt rider and a member of the Night Horde Ronin's time is filled but for the most part he lives a solitary life. Ronin is over 50 years old and still a bachelor. He had one great love but that was 25 years ago. When Ronin loves he loves for a lifetime.
She’d been his ‘hippie chick,’ in Birkenstocks, broomstick skirts, and layers of jewelry . . . That was a great description of Rainy in her 20’s. Now, 25 years later when she sees Ronin again she still has those hippie qualities but now they’re more “granola.” For those who aren’t from Oregon where you're more likely to hear the term granola… it means someone who was hippie in their 20’s but now as they are older and have money. They buy organic, shop at REI, and are environmentally conscious of the world around them. Basically they’re grown up hippies with jobs. Wow, sorry for the long description about granolas but I think it helps to understand Rainy. She’s a business woman now who lives by the same principles she held in her 20’s.
’Great Lost Love.’ There’s a reason why they separated all those years ago but it’s not for me to tell you. And when they come together they have some challenges in their way. Not only what pulled them apart all those years ago but a new revelation. The confession that is shared between these two will make the reunion seem impossible. I know, I'd be hurt and confused by what these two learn. The great thing about how Ms. Fanetti writes it it felt very authentic. Like if this was a real life story it would unfold in a similar fashion.
’They were outlaws, after all.’ The club has a lot going on that had me of the edge of my seat knowing this was the end of the road for this series. I’ve been reading about the club situation through the series and I had a lot of theories on how it would unfold. I was satisfied on how it ended… it was well done.
Conclusion There’s a bonus conclusion after CALM & STORM has ended. It was like Ms. Fanetti wrote it just for me. It was the closure I needed on that story line.
I’ve been struggling with how to say goodbye to this chapter of my reading life. I joined the ride with the series Signal Bend and continued on when the spinoff series followed. The adventure has taught me a lot about life, family, love, loyalty, and unity. While I know this isn’t the end for Ms. Fanetti’s writing career it still makes me sad that the series has ended. Yes, I cried in this book. I always end up crying in Fanetti books.
Thank you, Susan Fanetti, for the dedication. I'm in awe of you and honored to be included in your book! ♥
If you’re looking for a motorcycle romance with older characters then this series is the BEST OF THE BEST.

Two years ago I remember reading the first book in this series and enjoying it. So, when I was looking through the library's audios and saw this one I thought, 'why not.'
First off, I liked this one more than the first book. I know it's been two years since I read book one but this one was more fun to read.
What got my attention right away was LOLA. What an interesting character. She's a senior in high school who has a boyfriend who happens to be five years older than her. Right there, I connected with her. While in high school I dated an older guy too (not quite as old as hers but to my parents too old for me). And now as a parent of teenagers myself I could connect with her parents. Now, I know why my parents thought it was a bad idea to date an older guy. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I didn't realize this book was a love triangle until I got into the story. I'm not a fan of love triangles because someone always loses. I know there are a lot of 'Max haters' out there but I really felt for him. Of course, he's going to be jealous and suspicious when he feels Lola isn't be totally honest with him. Lola didn't do anything to make Max feel secure in their relationship. Here's another reason why her parents knew this relationship wasn't a good idea: a 17 year old and 22 year old are at two very different maturity levels and stages in their lives. He's a man and she's still a girl living under her parents rule. Too big of a difference.
Okay, enough about Lola and Max, and back to Lola. Lola is this girl whose parents are two dads. Her mom gave her up and her uncle and his partner adopted her. I loved how her dads parented her.
And of course this review wouldn't be complete with out mentioning the boy next door, Cricket. I loved this out-going guy. I can see why teen girls are swooning over him.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. There's just something about young love that can be fun to read. What teens find to be "life ending" seems so trivial to us, who are adults, but I can remember being that age and have big ideals.
The narrator did a great job and if you like YA this would be a good option.
I'm starting out by saying that I won't be giving this one a star rating because I'm not sure what to rate it.
I listened to the audio of this one witI'm starting out by saying that I won't be giving this one a star rating because I'm not sure what to rate it.
I listened to the audio of this one with my husband. We listened while we went on our nightly walks. He loved it. He gave the audio 5 stars in all three categories (overall, performance, story).
During our walks, I would look at him and say, "Where's the romance?" And his response was, "Why does it need romance?" IT JUST DOES! I like my books to have a small aspect of romance...it gives me hope for humanity.
While listening to this I kept thinking could I survive IF I WAS LEFT BEHIND ON MARS. Now that I'm done with the book I know that my chances of survival on Mars are ZERO. I don't think I would have made it one day. If perchance I did live past the first day I'm pretty sure I'd do something stupid that would lead to my demise.
One of my husband's pet peeves with me is when I read a book and then see the movie because I spend the whole time saying, "That's not how it happened." I'm looking forward to seeing this movie with my husband... I'm hoping he does that throughout this movie so he can no longer tease me about doing it.
Thank you, Christy, for gifting me this book. I love that we got to read it with our husbands. And thank you, Kara, for pushing me to read it. :)

”I need you to find that recording.” Ivy witnessed a crime that has put her in harm's way and left her reeling with what she should do. Fortunately, for her, a stranger enters into her life at the right moment. This mystery man happens to be Sebastian who has been given the mission to find a missing recording. For him to accomplish this task he has to scope out Ivy and get close to her.
Tattoo Time. What better way to get to know someone than to let them tattoo to you. Especially when that person you’re trying to get to know is a skilled tattoo artist. Ivy spends some much time tattooing Sebastian she quips, "After seven hours under my needle, we'll practically be married."

Sebastian Gah, I loved this enigma of a man. A man of very little words who unless he has something that needs to be said he’s not opening up. After reading all four books in this series Sebastian has become my favorite guy. I love his calm and quiet demeanor. Ivy was drawn to his discreet manner along with the fact that he has a reliable vibe.
Ms. Tucker created a fantastic series filled with romance and suspense.

The moment you know a story will go from being great to epic happened for me early on when I saw the compassion Lachlan had for the forgotten dogs that roam the streets. I love how he could empathize with them. Society only looked at their outer appearances and made quick judgements that these dogs were unworthy. The parallel of Lachlan’s life and those whom he rescued was brilliant. It brought a whole deeper level to the story.

WALK THROUGH FIRE is a great second chance romance by Kristen Ashley.
“For three years we lived happily. But we didn’t live happily ever after.” As young twenty year olds, Millie & Logan, were a happy couple. Their lives ran perpendicular to each other with him being part of an mc and her in college. But that didn't deter them because they were in love and had found their other half.
”I’ve been walking through fire for you for twenty years, Logan." Whoa! WHAT?! Twenty years ago something happened that made Millie walk away. Logan is totally clueless, as are the readers, to what it was that made her fall off of his radar. When Logan and Millie encounter each other 20 years later he’s angry that the love of his life up and disappeared on him. At first I wasn't sure I was going to like Logan because he was a grade-A Jerk with a capital j. I know he was hurt by Millie but he treated her so poorly I wasn't sure he was going to be able to redeem himself in my eyes. BTW- I can’t tell you what made her run from him because that’s a huge part of the story. Just know that the secret isn’t drug out for the whole story line.
“You hooked your star to an outlaw, baby.” When they reconnected they found a lot of had changed between the two of them over the last 20 years. They weren't those two young kids with stars in their eyes, they were older and little more jaded. Now, they're trying to fit their lives together and are running into some challenges along the way. Plus, Logan’s outlaw life is skirting around the edges of messing with Millie’s quiet life she has built for herself.
”Millie, I was given one good thing in my life, the family I was born into. I found one good thing, my Club .... But in all my life, I only earned one good thing. That’s you.”
I really enjoyed this second chance romance. I’ve been on a KA binge lately listening to her books and I can already tell this will make an awesome audiobook. Walk Through Fire has KA's signature flair that will have fans one-clicking her book.

Yay!! I’ve been waiting for Painter’s story ever since we first got a glimpse of him. If you’ve read this series Painter is no stranger to you because we first learn about him when he sort of has a relationship with the club president’s daughter, Em. I was losing hope that Painter was ever going to man up and claim a woman for himself. It was looking like bachelorhood was his future.

The Grudge Throughout the other books we’ve learned little pieces about Painter. We know he’s been to prison/jail 3 times. But we weren’t ever sure why they weren’t together after his stint in prison. This is the story about THE GRUDGE that caused a line to be drawn in the sand for this feuding couple.
One condition Painter gives Melanie - "No. Fucking. Bikers." Since they weren’t getting back together Painter gives Melanie one condition. To stay out of his world. She wasn’t allowed to date any bikers EVER. Basically his world no longer exised for her. Sounds like easy proposition until it isn’t.
"Sometimes it feels like you hate me out of habit." The issues between these two had their friends frustrated. Basically their friends wanted them to fish or cut bait. Unfortunately for their friends, Mel and Painter weren't out to please others and were doing things their own way. If that meant that everyone was agitated at them then so be it. This was their life to live.
I love Ms. Wylde's MC romance books. Reaper's Fall is a second chance romance that takes us back to the beginning of Mel & Painter's story. The readers are shown what they never got from the other books about their story. I really love how this story was laid out.

I've been on a Kristen Ashley audio binge lately. This audio was 23 hours long. I figured it would take me a month to finish but instead it took a week and half. I really enjoyed listening to this one but there were some minor things that the narrator did that took some time getting use to... such as her swallowing noise. At the beginning when she'd do it would distract me from the story.
I'm Team Joe now! He makes a great KA alpha male. Vi, on the hand, drove me nuts for a portion of this book with her stringing along two guys. I'm glad to know the other guy has his own book later in this series..

RIDE STEADY DID ME RIGHT! I really enjoyed listening to this one even though it was a long audio (17 hours). If you haven’t read a Kristen Ashley book and want to start with this one - you can because KA writes her books as standalones. Another thing about KA books are they focus on characters that are more mature (30 years and older). She does have a couple books with younger characters but the majority of them are about mature couples who are family orientated.
