I didn't understand much of what the two main characters reflected on in this book. I found the first half slow, but it picks up when Ozu arrives on the scene, and overall, it was fairly touching and interesting. I was disappointed in the ending, though. As soon as the characters are finding happiness, it is dashed, but I guess it teaches you to live in the moment. Probably wouldn't recommend.
