Reviewing this book 2 years after I read it because.... this was a huge disappointment for me.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that the writing and world building were beautiful but this was the most anticlimactic ending ever. It had been sold to me as a "duel of magic between magicians" but really the world duel is used veeeeery loosely.
If you enjoy slow paced books that are atmospheric you might enjoy this more than I did.

I don't get this book. It's so slow paced. But also all over the place. I'm struggling to keep going more than half way through.It's just boring

I loved it right up to the end but that ending ruined the book for me. I don't even remember what that ending was but disapointment has stayed with me.
One of the most overrated books ever
Thanks for making me feel seen lol, I never understand how it’s so constantly raved about. Characters are kind of flat, there isn’t really any plot, not much meaningful dialogue, and the conflict and conflict resolution is much more of a whimper than a bang. I love beautiful aesthetic prose but even that couldn’t save this one for me
This was one of those hyped books I got from the library because I'm frugal. Glad I did. It's boring and I didn't have to feel guilty about not finishing it. To each their own I guess. I love Dune. Others don't and I don't get why.
Massively overrated book. I listened to it on audiobook and even the narrator's incredible voice couldn't save it. Pointless descriptions, lots of exposition, childish characters.
I don't get the hype at all. It felt a lot like insta-love. I got 100 pages in before I got too bored to go on.

So glad somebody else had a hard time reading/ finishing this book. This was massively overhyped, and I always believed that my opinion was the unpopular one. Every time someone would rave or recommend this, I would just cringe inside. To each their own, of course, but I'm just happy seeing others sharing their experiences and realizing I wasn't the only one who struggled with The Night Circus.
It was one of the first book I read after a discovered book booktube and it made me realize that I shouldn't read everything that is recommanded. I almost dnf this book but I stick to it even if I really didn't like it. There is no plot in my opinion. I never connected with the characters. The only good things were the description in my opinion.
I listened to it as an audiobook and loved it.
Thanks for the relatable content. I had to restart this book 3 times before actually finishing it. I wasn’t much of a DNF’er(?) so I pushed through and was so disappointed with the ending. I don’t even remember the story at this point, I just remember the regret of picking the book up lol.

I absolutely loved it! Read it in a few days and plan on rereading it soon.
Yes! This is exactly how I feel about this book.
Totally agree, this was such a letdown for me and so boring. I kept waiting for a showdown or something but the pace remained slow throughout and the ending was so unsatisfying.
