So glad I read it. This is one that I would read again (and I dont usually re-read books).
I'm sure I would have more "ah-ha" moments...lol
I have seriously picked this book up three times and walked half-way around the bookstore, only to put it down because I'm not a huge mystery fan. But the story concept sounds so intriguing.
What's your favorite part?
What's your favorite part?

The whole book pulled me to the ending...so without saying what that was...I have to say everything tying together and coming clear in the end.

Not having my copy to refer to I don't have the charaters names. But, I loved the moment when the orphan man found his family. The moment also when the Doctor told the main character to read Sherlock Holmes (spelling ?).
PK - I can't believe you mentioned EOE! My best friend has been trying to get me to read that for ages. If this ranks up there with that one, then I guess I better read both. oy! :)
I had some problems with this book mostly due to my preconceptions. It's quite a story and vividly told. Not my normal genre but I couldn't stop reading it.
OK, it's all in my short review.
I always write reviews. Why? Over 650 other people wrote one for The Thirteenth Tale on Goodreads alone. Someone might stumble on mine and learn something but I doubt it. I read a few reviews looking for any insight I missed but only after I've read the book.
Quite simply, I forget what I read too easily and need the the reminder. (All that should go in my profile and not here. It just came out.)
Back to discussion. Actually, I better put most of this in the Spoilers discussion.
Bottom line: I learned, once again, that a good story told well is a treasure regardless of subject, characters, or plot.
