Ann (annrumsey) | 16652 comments We have two May-2025 Group Read books, this topic is for general discussion of Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson
*No Spoilers on this topic please *
Are you planning on reading this book?

GailW (on partial hiatus) (abbygg) | 421 comments MMHM... So I already read this one last year. And for some reason I wrote down that we were reading the second in the series. Which I pick up from the library tomorrow...! So I won't be rereading this one. But I did like it! (I really need to get more sleep....)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16652 comments Gail- I’ll go check the nomination thread to see if I put the wrong book up - thinking we wouldn’t have chosen the second book without having read the first book. I have started it it and am reading it slowly as it is on Kindle for now. My Libby hold for the audio is weeks away.
It is quite intriguing!!

GailW (on partial hiatus) (abbygg) | 421 comments Oh Ann I’m pretty sure this was my mistake… cuz ya know it’s happened before!

GailW (on partial hiatus) (abbygg) | 421 comments Ann, I don't know if the narrator is the same for both installments. I read the first on ebook and bought the audio for the second. I ended up sending it back. The person was h... not to my liking. (Cringing in the car from the voice is not conducive to happy driving...)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16652 comments Gail good to know re the narrator for the second book in this series. I will make mental note to watch out for who narrates. I didn’t realize until you mentioned the second book that there are three of them!
More reading planned today for book one on Kindle. I have a block of time lined up later.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9331 comments No, this was definitely meant to be the first book. I didn't know it was a series... that's a good sign I think! Am still listening to First Lie Wins but will start this next since I already have it on Playaway.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16652 comments Carol: I am really enjoying it, slow as it may be for me to find print reading time. I think I am finally near 50%. The humor is fun.

PattyMacDotComma | 40 comments I really enjoyed this when I first read it, and I've read the second, and third now as well. I reckon this was the best one, and I liked the narration because Barton Welch seemed to get Ernest's tone right.

But I didn't particularly enjoy his narration in the third book (Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret. I don't know remember why, but I went back to reading instead.

This one was fun - and the title is true!
Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone (Ernest Cunningham, #1) by Benjamin Stevenson My review of Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone with no spoilers

message 10: by Ann (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ann (annrumsey) | 16652 comments Patty - I had only the Kindle version of Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone in the beginning and then finally got my turn for the audio. I liked both for different reasons. Keeping up with the clues was easier in print. I agree the narration and drive to get Ernest's tone right was a plus for the audio. I am looking forward to the other two books in the series.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9331 comments I am listening but also have a print copy. It came in very handy when something occurred and I said "wait, did I miss something?"
