They say everyone has a book in them but that does not mean the book should every escape the mad dark interior of the mind and see the light of day and being let free to frighten the world and as an example for fun I write strange and very odd books like:
Love of Chocolate and has a website called www.chocolatemanga.com For some reason teenage girls like it why I do not know as I did not write it for them but if you are not one then you probably won’t like it, it is written like a Japanese Anime film (but without the subtitles) it has lots of full colour manga art (because I like manga art) to confuse the reader as to what the characters look like, so don’t blame me if you buy it and do not like it.

COBOURG WRITER SHANE JOSEPH’S NOVEL AFTER THE FLOOD WINS NATIONAL AWARD

Cobourg – Shane Joseph’s “dystopian novel of hope” After the Flood won in the Futuristic/Fantasy category at The Word Guild Canadian Christian Writing Awards on June 16th 2010 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Joseph, a graduate of the Humber School for Writers, has two other published books: Redemption in Paradise (2004) and Fringe Dwellers (2008). His short fiction has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies in Canada, India, Sri Lanka and the USA. His blog at www.shanejoseph.com is widely syndicated.

Joseph’s novel portrays a dramatically altered North America in the aftermath of a giant flood, which is forecast to take place in 2012. His focus is on how mankind regroups to build a better world but remains hobbled by an ingrained trait – desire. Critics have described the book as Noah’s Ark meets Samson & Delilah at Camelot in the Brave New World.

The Word Guild black-tie Awards Gala was held at World Vision's headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, to which the public was invited. The Gala is the premier event honouring the work of Canadian writers who are Christian. It was hosted by Herbie Kuhn, popular speaker and in-house announcer for the Toronto Raptors basketball team.

The contest received a record number of 245 entries from writers in eight provinces. The 34 award categories include non-fiction books, novels, articles, columns, poems and song lyrics.

“I am grateful to The Word Guild for honouring me with this award,” Joseph said. “Writers are supposed to get their reward only in heaven, but it is nice to get small doses of it on earth, occasionally.”

The Word Guild, the organization that sponsors the awards, consists of more than 340 writers and editors across Canada who write from a Christian perspective and publish work in a variety of genres. The Word Guild also sponsors Canada's largest Christian writers' conference, Write! Canada (www.writecanada.org). After the Gala, 250 writers, editors, agents and publishers will meet in Guelph, Ont. from June 17 to 19 for professional development, networking and marketing opportunities.

I remember the picture well. Lilith is one of my characters in 2 vampire books. Learned of several myths about her in 2003. I'm working on another vampire book with Lilith as a sub-character. In my first book Lilith was a "good" mother-type vampire and in the second (the one I'm writing now) she is cunning and vicious. I can't read his book until I've wrapped mine up, which I've just about completed.

There are certainly some Goodreads listed here!

... so I'm taking at least one into my own hands. I will soon to self-publish in electronic format (at first, anyway) a general fiction work about Vincent Van Gogh in modern times. I have no idea if anyone but the author has interest in such.

The premise: Imagine Vincent van Gogh in our modern world, struggling to find love and to support himself through his art. Suppose, during the last year and a half of his life, when he severed part of his ear and committed himself to the insane asylum, he stumbles into the very circumstance he has longed for his entire adult life -- a family. Would his life change for the better, or would his self-destructive tendencies still prevail?

My novel, Vincent Van Gogh, Encore, explores these possibilities.

Hello all. My new science fiction novel, Prison Earth - Not Guilty as Charged was released early this year. Sales momentum is starting slow, which is not unusual for a first-time author, but my book was recently selected as a finalist in the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. It is available on Amazon.com in both the US and UK online stores.

I am currently reading Satan's Chamber. I picked it up at a bookstore and read five pages. I was hooked! If the pace is this fast for the rest of the book, I might not sleep until I'm finished!

I'm very excited about my first professional review last week from the Midwest Book Review (5 stars at Amazon) and wanted to share it with the group:

When the magic ends, you need more to make a relationship remain strong. "The Mermaid's Pendant" draws inspiration from the Little Mermaid to tell a story of the realities of marriage, and what happens when the starting magic ends and the realities of life start to sink in. A beautifully crafted fantasy that shows much symbolism and wisdom, "The Mermaid's Pendant" is a fine pick that shouldn't be missed.
