If you would like to read a book that ONLY exists as an electronic book with no print edition, you must get the book pre-approved for length (100+pages) here. Please include any details you can find about the book- download site, electronic publisher, word count, etc.

The book list now appears in a googledoc SRC eBook Verification

Notes:

We cannot rely on Goodreads page number notation for ebooks without print editions without supporting information.

Dee (austhokie) | 8784 comments this was my requested book for the festivus task

Public Lives, Private Pleasures

its published by Loose-ID and is a short novel according to their description. From the FAQ page, a novel is defined by them as over 35+K words...which if to assume 250 words a page, is 140 pages - am I good?

How about The Definitive H.P. Lovecraft: 67 Tales of Horror in One Volume?

I can't find any given page counts. However, the Kindle version has 19,489 "locations" and is 1678KB in size. For comparison, the Kindle version of Dr. Zhivago has only 11,376 locations and is 939KB and is listed as 544 pages.

So I feel pretty confident that the Lovecraft collection is the equivalent of well over 100 pages! (Plus, probably any collection with 67 stories is going to be at least 100 pages. Unless they're haiku.)

Most of the ereaders just got an update to show pages, so locations shouldn't be necessary anymore. I hope this helps!

message 32: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (mamamunky) | 185 comments What do you mean by locations?

message 33: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 8784 comments if you have a kindle, at the bottom of the page in the right corner there should be a number - that works as an alternate to page numbers, because the number of locations in a book doesn't change when you change the font size...if you have a nook, then there should be a page number indicated somewhere on the screen (but i don't know where because I don't own one)...if you have a kindle and it received the most recent update, then I think you have to click on menu to see the locations/page number

@megan - the update for page numbers only works if the publisher has provided a page number associated with the file...if they don't have it available (i.e. samhein or those who do ebooks and the print a few months later) you'll still only see locations

True! I totally forgot that this was for ones with no print editon at all (Amazon says that page numbers come from the Mass Market Paperback I think). D'oh me. >.<

The page number on the last page was 125, that's where I got that number from. Is that what you mean by location?

Photobucket

Kindles use locations as reference markers. You're fine with your book, we use any information available from publishers or retailers to determine length- word count, publisher's statements, locations, etc.
