Please only list authors in this topic who need to be merged by a GR staff member. That is, when one of the profiles has been claimed by the GR-member author.

Do not list authors for disambiguation, authors who are deceased, or authors needing merging where neither profile has been claimed.

I have a GR Author page under S.E. Culpepper, no space between the first two initials, and only one of the books I've written shows up under that profile. I think it's because one book has me entered as S. E. Culpepper with spaces.

You might want to message him and suggest he add his middle initial (complete with ".") His books all seem to have it, and it will allow newly imported editions to show up in the right place.

37 & 38 only need specific books moved from one profile to another, not two profiles merged. (Left them alone.)

Please note: I did not do ANY combines or other cleanup on the merged authors this time.

If I'm in the wrong place please let me know. I'm trying to find someone to help me merge a paperback ed with a Kindle ed of the same book - and to somehow put the Kindle ed into the 'other editions' box at the side of the paperback entry. Author Patrick G. Cox has just been approved as a Goodreads Author, but he now has two profiles and doesn't know how to merge them (even though I gave him both links via email). The links are:

OK, I fixed 38 myself by changing the author's name on the individual books like Rivka said, and then combined the books as needed. I should have been able to take care of that one myself without posting here in the first place. Sorry about that.

On 37, I was able to fix that one, too, but I do have a question. When two authors have exactly the same name, and one of them is a Goodreads author (and therefore not able to be edited), how can one tell which author has the extra spaces in the name? Is it just trial and error and see which one works? Or did I miss something that should have been obvious?

You can click "edit" on one of the individual books of the Goodread's author to see how their name is entered. It will show up as 1, 2, 3 (etc) spaces between the first and last name.

Thanks, Melody, but I tried that, and it didn't help. I assumed the Goodreads author would take precedence and have the single space, but the second author didn't show two spaces, and there was no note on either profile about extra spaces. I ended up just adding an extra space anyway and checking to see if the book showed up on the correct profile, and it did, so I went from there.
