The Seventh Son by Sebastian Faulks

Louise’s first review of the year

really liked it
I really enjoyed The Seventh Son by Sebastian Faulks, but I have to admit it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Black Woods Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey

Louise’s last review of the year

it was amazing
Black Woods Blue Sky’ is one of the most immersive books I’ve read in a long time. It took me deep into the Alaskan wilderness , in a story that read almost like a fairytale. Birdie and her 6 year old daughter Emaleen have moved into a very remote cabin belonging to a man they don’t really know called Arthur. This man is odd, but Birdie believes he has their best interests at heart, and she is desperate for a new life. At first, they embrace the ...more
