Get Excited for These Recent and Upcoming Sequels, Prequels, and Series Continuations

Posted by Sharon on December 6, 2024

For a certain subset of dedicated readers, there’s nothing on the planet quite so beloved as an extended book series.

After all, when you love a particular story—really love it—you don’t want it to end. It’s exciting to discover a new series and realize you have multiple books to look forward to. Or maybe you started a series a while ago and there’s a new installment on the shelves (or on the way). That’s a good feeling, too.

This collection is dedicated to such feelings. We’ve compiled two lists. The first is a sampling of highly anticipated new series books coming in 2025, each with a quick description and expected publication date. The second is a roundup of series continuations and conclusions for 2024.

Please note that neither of these lists is comprehensive. There are just too many book series out there. You’ll find lots of fantasy and mystery below—the two genres most associated with long series—but also sci-fi, romantasy, weird fiction, literary fiction, YA heist thrillers, and genre-defying books with awesome titles.

Click on the titles or cover images for more information on each book. You can also add any of these to your own digital shelf with the Want to Read button.
