Should be solved now, as I let the system perform a duplicate check (and 9 duplicates were found).
I noticed you're a librarian too, so access to the duplicate check shouldn't be a problem and you could have performed it yourself... (?)

I'm a librarian too and can't seem to spot how to do a duplicate check - seems like a useful tool, how'd you do it?

At the end of the description you see '(edit)'. Click on it. Then at the bottom of the next page you have two options: 'check for duplicates' and 'remove particular books'.
The duplicate check will remove all 'doubles' from the list while the votes cast are kept with the remaining book (the duplicate check can, of course, only remove books which are combined correctly). There are also, unfortunately, instances known where the duplicate check gives a 'page unavailable' notice.
Good luck! (Don't use the duplicate check where covers are concerned though)

Thanks for fixing and explaining.

You're welcome :-)
A creator can, to my knowledge, not remove books or check for duplicates (unless the creator is a librarian, of course)

Throne of Glass might have started as a retelling, but in the final product there is nothing of Cinderella left, so it shouldn't be on this list. The references to myths and legends are so general, that every Fantasy book ever written should be on the list, then.
Secret Garden isn't a retelling nor is it based on mythology
Likewise Harry Potter shouldn't be on the list either.
And why mix up "mythology" "fairy tale retellings" "retellings of classics" "historical novels based on real people" and a couple of other themes? That makes basically every book eligible!

Throne of Glass itself is allowed to stay I think -enough people agree that its origins as Cinderella are sufficient.
I've removed Secret Garden.
Harry Potter's a tricky one - Deathly Hallows certainly has Jesus elements to it, so it's allowed on the list. I've removed Chamber of Secrets though - it's not a retelling of anything as far as I know!
The introduction to the list clearly outlines what sort of retellings the list wants - yes it's a broad category, but it's still specific.

There is a huge difference between fairy tale and mythology retellings and fanfiction based on classic literature. Also, books written about historical figures has its own separate category (and are not retellings whatsoever). They are either historical non-fiction or are historical fiction... not retellings.
If everything in your information panel and tags are what you want, then you should just list the entire list as 'Adaptions, Retellings of Classic Literature, Mythology and Fairytales'. Especially since people are going to come to this list expecting to see a more comprehensive list of just retellings of mythology and fairytales.
I haven't gone through the entire list, yet, but is Arthurian myth retellings allowed here? I see a lot of fairytale retellings and Greek myth retellings. Just curious if Arthurian mythology/legend retellings are allowed here as well? Then again, I haven't checked through the entire list. I kind of got lost on the first page looking through everything.... that I have not read, lol.

It is a bit confusing, I admit, but the title says 'Mythologies and Retellings of Fairy Tales & Classics' ... Personally, I don't see what classics have to do with mythologies and retellings of fairy tales, but each to their own ...
