it was ok

I must say, Yuki is really getting on my nerves right now. The books seem to get more boring ever since there is that co-author. I can't help it. I liked Yuki at first but by now I really dislike her. When Jill was still there, you wouldn't spend half of the book reading about the things in court and all that stuff. So I really dislike that. I mean, if I wanted to read about court stuff, I'd buy a book about that. But these books are, in my opinion, about homicide cases and therefore I really dislike that there is so much book-time spent in court with Yuki and less time with Lindsay and her team trying to find the killer. Also, the cases seem to be more boring. They used to be with twists that would turn the entire case upside down. Now it's just from one dead end to the next until they happen to find one clue that leads to the big bang. Meh.

Subrosa39 Agree - I don't like courtroom drama; there's lots of that in other books if that's what you like.

It's been a long time since I've read those books, so I'm not entirely sure about the accuracy of my reply BUT as I'm a fan of understanding the back story with the characters and all that, I'd recommend reading the series in order since it's not just the cases they work, but also the story about the characters here.. which wouldn't make too much sense if read out of order, but that's just my opinion :)

I think I'll try another book ☺
I guess 1st to Die set an higher standard."

I guess you're good to go up until about the 5th book of the series. The 6th is okay as well, but after that.. it just went downhill. So the first few I can recommend, the following ones... not so much, sadly. Have you checked out the Rizzoli&Isles novels by Tess Gerritsen? They're similar to those here, so you might enjoy them more than this one here :)
