I like big mutts and I cannot lie.

Bailey’s back! At the behest of Ethan, our loyal and dear Bailey comes back from dog heaven to help mediate between two feuding brothers, Ethan’s grandchildren. Starting from service dog, to regular dog, and many lives between, Bailey is determined to fulfill Ethan’s promise and help Burke and Grant patch things up, no matter how many lives it takes.

Before I started this book I was thinking. It all closed so beautifully in book #2, why ruin such a perfectly good ending? And after finishing this I was thinking. Man I was right! But don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great book, anyone who reads it is surely to enjoy it. Bailey is as lovable as always, and through its many lives and reincarnations we get to love him each time more. I specially loved seeing Bailey and Lacey back together again, and how their relationship unfolded for them. Just beautiful.

Still, I must say even though all the main ingredients were there, I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as the first two. So be warned. And there’s a sort of cliffhanger for a book #4, so of course, I’m sure to read that too. A fifth book? Hand it in. I never really learned when to quit.

I own a cat btw.

--------------------------------
PERSONAL NOTE : So I say to myself. Buddy, it’s been a year. Maybe let them know you are still alive? So. Here I am. Alive. Didn’t get covid. Yet. Reading poorly. Gaming plenty. Working. Single. No kids. Got vaccinated recently.
Do I plan to review ever again? Yes. More often, maybe? Also yes. Possibly. Hoping to move to monthly. Or even weekly. If I ever get my reading mojo back. I have a bunch of reviews of stuff I’ve read before Goodreads existed. I may or may not upload them sporadically.
So that’s it. It’s a crazy world out there. Take care. Read well. Stay safe.

★★★★☆ 1. A Dog's Purpose

--------------------------------
NOTA PERSONAL : Entonces me digo a mí mismo. Pibe, ya pasó un año. Tal vez podrías avisarles que todavía seguís vivo? Así que acá estoy. Vivo. No tuve covid. Todavía. Leyendo poco. Jugando mucho. Trabajando. Soltero. Sin hijos. Me vacunaron recientemente.
Planeo reseñar algún día otra vez? Sí. Más a menudo, tal vez? Sí también. Posiblemente. Esperando pasar a mensualmente. O incluso semanalmente. Si alguna vez recupero mi magia lectora. Tengo un montón de reseñas de cosas que leí antes que existiera Goodreads. Puede o puede que no las suba esporádicamente.
Así que eso es todo. Es un mundo loco ahí afuera. Cuídense. Lean bien. Que estén bien.

Yun So happy to see your post, Federico! Glad to hear you're doing well and staying healthy! Hope you get your reading mojo back. I lost it for a few months last year when I was super into Animal Crossing, so I totally understand. Do what you enjoy! Great review, by the way! Glad you enjoyed this one, even if it wasn't quite as terrific as the previous two. :)

You played Pet Society too?? I loved that game! I met a bunch of friends online while playing it years ago, and then we all reunited to play ACNH lol. Hope you enjoy ACNH whenever you get a chance to check it out! :)

Hi Arini. It's been a year and change lol. Glad to see you are doing well too :). There are two movies but for book #1 and #2. This third book does not have a movie. Yet!

I used to play 'Pet Society' and 'Farmville' but eventually I quit them both and blocked nearly all browser or app games. Like my books I realized I need my games to have a plot and an ending. I vary game genres as much as I do with books but I stick mostly to story-driven games. 'Life is Strange 1' and 'Dreamfall The Longest Journey' felt like 5 star books and to this day I still try to find unique gems like that. Like trying to find books equal or greater than your top favorites. The never-ending chase.

Gracias Pedro! Toda la razón. Leer es un placer no una obligación. Por eso de vez en cuando conviene tomarse un tiempo para perseguir otros intereses antes de volver de nuevo con la lectura. Que estés bien! Cuidate!

That totally makes sense! ACNH is probably that game for me, my current best ever. I wish you the best of luck finding that next book and game to top your best ever! :)

Heidi Just one question— how many Kleenexes will I need while reading this book? Dog books almost always cry— I love me some wonderful canines!!

Ceecee Yay you’re back!!! Love the review as love mutts too! No cats. Haven’t had Covid. Yet. Vaccinated. Etc!

Oh just a few really. If at all. Nothing out of the ordinary. You seriously need a buttload of Kleenexes for book #2 though. And a new heart to replace the beyond repair damage. Book #1 is mostly happy tears so I guess it's pretty safe.

Vaishali • [V.L. Book Reviews] I've not read this but I'm already feeling so much love for Bailey. A sweet, joyful review Federico (with a cracking opening line) and just to touch on your personal not to self, I'm glad you're safe and well!...I was debating that idea that you had fallen off the face of earth so many thanks for letting us know you're alive and kicking haha. As for reviewing, I'm really feeling the malaise too, so I hope you're chugging along at your own pace my friend. You never know, maybe you'll open up that one book and you'll get that mojo running. Take care!

Good to hear you are kicking it too Vaishali:D! Sad to hear you are suffering the malaise. A truly good book can surely refuel some reviewing energy. I can testify it happened to me recently. Still, I wouldn't force it. I'm just happy it happened by chance and will let it come and go as it pleases. Stay safe!

I like to think of myself as sort of alive (it's a long sordid chronically ill story 😅) but books can absolutely refuel in their magical way. You put it perfectly, there's no joy to be found in the weight of expectation. I'm happy it came for you Federico and thank you! Sending positive vibes your way and wishing you the absolute best ☺️

Aw, didn't know. I should revisit profile bios more often. But sorta alive is more than good enough for me 😅. Hope expectations don't play against you too often Vaishali. Thank you and also sending you the best 💖!

Lol. I'm glad! And unfortunately much as I try my damnedest to play a good game with expectation, I does tend to leave its mark often 😅. Aaaw, it's much appreciated, thank you Federico! 💜
