Wait.. what? “The End”? Just like that after a 1000+ pages with little closure on so many things? Whatever happened to the good old closure?
That was one of the most emotional endings I’ve ever come across, bringing an end to what has been a phenomenal story in more ways that I can express.
But how to review it…
Of course, no better way than Scarlett’s signature move for everything:
”I’ll think of it all tomorrow. I can stand it then. After all, tomorrow is another day.”

”I’ve never rescued a maiden in distress. That would be a new experience.”
It took a while for me to get settled into this, but things are getting interesting by the chapter.. Although, I’ve never come across a book where the author had tried this hard to make the protagonist despicable.
"Sing it I will and listen you will or I’ll be shooting you for the Orangeman you are." "

I didn't think I'll like the book during the first 100 pages or so, but I'm loving it now! This is totally worth the time!

Glad you finally reached your goal Tharindu and read the book this year! 🥳

Thank you, Debbie! 😊 I know what you mean, this one's unique in so many ways. Oh, and I actually have you to thank for reminding me to bump this up to the TBR pile at the beginning of this year! So, thank you for that too! 😊😊

I've yet to watch the movie, and I don't think I'll do so until I re-read the book at least one more time.. I think there's lot more left here for me to enjoy before letting a motion picture put definitions to everything 😄 Glad to hear you enjoyed them both!

Thank you, Baba! 😊 but the actual review is yet to come actually 😄

Thank you, Loretta! 😊 I tend not to watch the movie first anymore with books like this, as they have a way of skipping over many vital bits 😄 Hope you'll give the book a try someday!

I also like to read the book before the movie Tharindu but as I said, unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with this book.
I guess never say never! Maybe one day I’ll surprise myself and read the book! 😊

Really?? 😮😮 I had no idea! I'm very glad the book got published then. It'd be nigh on impossible to write a sequel to a book like this (or to any great book), no matter how skill a write is I think. Hope you enjoy your re-read, Jasmine!

I very much agree. First I agree that I am so glad it was published! Second, I believe that writers should leave such books untouched. No one can know exactly where the original author intended to take the story, and I would not want to distort the story for my own gain.
I am sure that I will enjoy it as I reread it again, for probably the fourth time. Lol. I will probably be doing that next year as my intended reading list for this year is already more than I will most likely be able to complete by the closing of this year.

Thank you, Joe! 😊 This is more like a 'pre-review' though 😄

You're most welcome!

Hmm thank you for that information. I had always been told what I had stated earlier. Guess that just goes to show that you can not always believe what others have told you. I normally do my own research, but I have not on this one. Thank you for sharing. I stand corrected.

Yeah, a unique protagonist indeed! Hope you'll have a great time with the re-read!

Hope you'll give it another go, Teresa.. who knows, you might come to love it next time around 😊
