This was such a sweet story not my usual type but nice nonetheless. I wasn’t fully invested in it sadly, I still enjoyed it but not enough to raise my rating to 4 stars.
I wanted to review this book but weeks went by and I didn’t get the chance. However, upon reflection, I realised that I have nothing to say beyond the first 2 sentences.. it’s not a memorable book at all nor left an impression on me. It’s one of those that I’ll eventually only remember reading because of the title and the fact that this book is popular but not because of the story itself.
The movie honestly looks more fun than the book. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was good, not enough to make me love the book more but if you’re into audiobooks and want to read this book, then the audiobook is a safe choice especially since it’s told by two distinctive narrators (if i remember correctly).

Nicole, I've taken to listening to several older novels and a lot of them are very good narrations. Hope this one is, too. I plan to listen to it someday 😊

That's very good to know. Any books in particular? This one's narration is good tbh. It's told in a "young" voice since the main character is 14 yo. but it works for this book :)

These are some narrators that I really like and they have narrated some older books, even if I haven't listened to them all
Wil Wheaton did a great job with Ready Player 1. I know you've read that book but I'd look into others narrated by him.
Steven Shanahan has narrated several books that I liked (Jane Harper's books and others) so I'd check what he's narrated.
I thought the narration of Standard Deviation was funny although it's not that old...2017
I'll have to think of more. 😊
Another narrator that I like a lot is Edoardo Ballerini and he narrated the 4th Monkey series by JD Barker

Thank you so much!! I honestly rarely remember narrators and look for books instead of books narrated by a specific person but that might be good to switch since it would be easier to find good audiobooks and discover new books at the same time.

I read this back in 2010 and loved it. Not sure I'd feel the same way today as tastes change. Sorry this wasn't as good as you'd hoped.

I read this book awhile ago and I don’t recall anything about it. Meh.glad it wasn’t awful, but sad it wasn’t good. 🌸🌺
