oh good. I was just thinking I should re-read this. I read it so long ago and loved it but was starting to doubt my affection was based on text.

How true. Also, Pearl Buck has a very interesting life story.
I believe this book is where I first heard of the Chinese tradition of foot binding. Waaaaay back in the day.
I really do love this book. It was so good I could not put a decent review into words... the meme of THIS BOOK IS ABOUT saved me from trying to review a book that I love, and not doing it proper justice.
