Please discuss Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

I just bought this book so I can't wait to start talking about it!

It's in my 'on-deck' pile. I'll try to get to it soon.

I should probably go and read this book (oh, my never ending to-read list)... since I'm from Indonesia and all. And I've never even been to Bali. It's almost a sin.

I read Eat, Pray, Love a month or so ago. I really loved it. I passed it on to a friend telling her "you have to read this!" I think I ejoyed it so much because I love traveling and new places.

My sister only had great things to say about this book. It's here at my house now, but I've not gotten to it. I know a couple of times when she was reading, she seemed to just sit on her couch with a polite smile on her face. So, it must really be good. I'm make a note to read it when I finish this book I'm on now.

I didn't read any of the other comments before posting this one. I just picked Eat,Pray,Love up from the library and as soon as I get a chance I'm going to start reading it tonight. I was on the waiting list for a few months I think! I'm excited about this new forum. Be back soon.

I listened to Eat, Pray, Love on CD about six months ago and I loved it! I thought that it was great to listen to Elizabeth Gilbert read her own memoir because she was able to put certain reflections through her voice that may not have come across with her words only. Either way, I definitely recommend it!

I just finished part one and I am enjoying this book much, much more than I anticipated.

The book club few of my co-workers and I just started chose this book as our first read. We just finnished it last week and we all agreed it was a great first choice. I love the style of the writing. It's very witty and thoughtful and although it was a pretty easy read, I didn't want it to end so I took my time with the last section. Can't wait to hear what others think once they finnish so we can discuss more!

Cassidy - I took my time with the end too. I enjoyed this book much more than I anticipated. It was great to see the authors progression from depression to where she ended up. Very interesting and enlightening book.

I recently finished this book and loved it!. I'm looking forward to discussing it with the group. Since I'm new to this group, and actually new to this kind of thing, can you give me some tips on how to provide comments? I noticed that no chapter headings or topics have been posted yet, so I assume everyone is still reading this and we'll discuss it later?

I just heard yesterday that they are going to make a movie of this book and that Julia Roberts is going to be the main character. What does everyone think of that?

Becky - Interesting. I can see her playng the part. I am pretty much alwyas dissapointed in movie versions of books I have read. We'll see I guess.

I am half-way through this book. My book club was reading it this past month. Only one of the six of us finished it! Not at all because we did not like it, but rather because we liked it so much and at the same time it was deep and serious so we couldn't read it as quickly as we could with other books we've read. Liz Gilbert is a great author. This book is so REAL and true. I can't believe she shares all that she does of herself in this book. I admire her courage to do so. It's definitely worth reading.

I hadn't heard that they may make it into a movie. I wonder when it might come out.

I just got to the third part of the book and am loving it so far. Is it OK to start a thread on this one? It's fairly easy to divide since it already consists of three different parts: Italy, India and Indonesia.

Tina - Pygmalion is uber short. You should be able to squeeze EPL in between the two.

I totally agree with Angela, about how true and real the author was and the book was. It took me longer than it usually does to get through this too - especially through India, I really wanted to read it slow and understand everything she was going through. I think looking back, Italy has to be my favorite part - although I am a hopeless romantic and I loved Felipe for everything he did for her and how calm and patient he was.
