Elizabeth Gilbert is an award-winning writer of both fiction and non-fiction. Her short story collection Pilgrims was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway award, and her novel Stern Men was a New York Times notable book. Her 2002 book The Last American Man was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critic’s Circle Award.

Her memoir, Eat, Pray, Love, spent 57 weeks in the #1 spot on the New York Times paperback bestseller list. It has shipped over 6 million copies in the US and has been published in over thirty languages. The only advice I can give you in such a simple format as this is to begin (today) to TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF. Try an experiment: Treat yourself as if you are the most precious thing on earth. No judgement, no self-hatred, no shame. Imagine that you are your own angel, and begin there. What does Rhonda need? Take care of her. She is in your care. I send you blessings, and promises that lives can change. Look at it from a cosmic perspective...what have you come here on earth to do with your life? I made a vow to myself when I was about 15 years old that I would be a writer. I didn't promise the universe that I would be a good writer; only that I would WRITE. So I write. And I release the outcome, because the outcome is none of my business. Most of what blocks us is fear about criticism, fear we aren't good enough. But forget about that — what matters only is the process. Set your timer for 30 min a day, and begin. (less)
