message 207: by Sarah

Sarah Black I have just realized that I never replied to your latest message. I am so sorry, I haven't really been online lately. Life has been pretty hectic. I hope everything is good and that everyone is well.

In reply to your last message back in July....

Books are addictive, very addictive. I just recently went on holiday and came back with a suitcase half filled with books. That is partly due to the fact that I just had my birthday, though. As for the being behind on reading, We may as well start a club for that because I'm way behind on my yearly goal for reading and I have completely forgotten about my challenges as well! :o The horror, I am ashamed of myself for letting TV (iZombie mainly) take over my life. (God I love that show. If you haven't watched it you should) Season five of OUAT is out Mmmm Killian. Have you settled into your new home well?

I always wanted to help take care of elderly people, that's mainly because my great-aunt (who I went on holiday to see over the past week) is in a care home at the other end of the country and I try to see her once every year. Seeing the way the staff are with their elders makes it seem like an amazing thing. I'd love to hear stories about their lives and see what they can remember about their upbringings etc...

You seem to be very lucky with your job then. I'd love to have a job that fit with my life so well. I doubt I'd ever be able to write a book, not even a short story. It would stress me out too much. Ah, insurance, travel (the kind where you sit by the phone and help people find the cheapest flights for business travel) and accounting sound like some of the most boring jobs.

Right now I am not working, it is rather sad to be completely honest, but something happened outside of the place I used to work. Well, it happened twice and I guess I just haven't gotten my confidence back yet to go out into the world on my own again.

Dichotomy Girl Rachel, I miss you!!!! It's been entirely too quiet around here!

Liz* Fashionably Late Thanks for the add, Rachel. And congrats on the happy day! (:

Loved the dress, btw :P

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* I hope your big day was beautiful and all you wished it would be. I wish you all the happiest days ahead.

Yes! There are places that I just run through it to get to the next floor because of the dust. I'm allergic so it's awful >_<
I just moved wen I went to Canada. I took 2 luggage with 32kg each plus hand luggage. When I came back it was worse. I still have some unopened. When I got back I just couldn't find time to see each stuff I already had and find place for the new stuff. One day... One day...
Hahahaha, I can't wait to see your palace lol.

Omg, I feel like it's been a century since I last talked to you. Sorry for my late reply. And omg, are you Mrs already? I know it's september but can't remember when.
And yeees, the single ladies was priceless! I was cracking lol

Ohh, don't even say that. My parents are with me now because I got home one friday and received the news "we will go under construction on monday :D" and then, just after mine was over, with all the boxes and things that I left in their house, I need to pack their stuff and furniture to my house in a weekend. It was craaaazy!
Yellow with flowers like that... ugh!

I Can't believe that I'm 20 yet, last year of my teenage.I won't be able to read YA books like I used to.Guess what,I read Austenland just to see If the book was better than the movie but trust me the movie was better. The book was funny and all right from the beginning when Shannon Hale dedicated the book to Colin firth.

“For Colin Firth:
You're a really great guy, but I'm married, so I think we should just be friends.”

She is a witty lady, shannon Hale.I've been reading a lot of Jane Austen fan fiction/Retellings recently and that's when I stumbled upon Bridget Jones's' Diary and it was awesome. The movie helped my Colin Firth madness reach a new height. And now I have a new love interest MARK DARCY <3.I bet you have read/watched the book/movie.
we have 20,000 different types of weddings in India sometimes it last for a week.Yeah we invite whole of the town and have a huge party. You looked so pretty on your bridal shower.I hope your wedding isn't over yet!?
I wish you all the happiness in the world Rachel and of course a Happy married life.Do post the pics from your wedding in here or on Insta.

P.S I could help but share a bit of Colin firth awesomeness with you.

Nora Yes, I've read Shadow and Bone, and I'll have to to try the other one! I wasn't impressed with the first half of the book (mostly because of Alina), but I really enjoyed the second half. I adore the Darkling. One of the coolest, most complex YA characters I've read, I think.

message 196: by Nora

Nora Hey Rachel, thanks for accepting my request! Oh man, I love antiheroes, villains, and antivillians (if there is such a thing). I love moral ambiguity and characters making difficult decisions. I think wholly good and super noble characters are boring, for the most part. That's why I adored The Young Elites. There are no completely good or completely bad characters. I am not over you-know-who, but I think there's hope for him in the next book (what with Maeve).

As for Maggie Stiefvater, I went into The Scorpio Races not expecting to like it at all. For one thing, I hated the first Shiver book, couldn't even finish it. Plus, it sounded like it was going to be boring and I much prefer fast-paced books. Even so, I really enjoyed it. I can totally understand why it wouldn't do it for some people though :)

God I'm so jealous of you finding your Mr. Nobley whereas I'm stuck in here and fantasizing over a Mr. Darcy who will never come. *weeps in a corner*.
I don't really know what a bridal shower is but I'm glad you put Mr Darcy instead of Mr. Nobley :P(Nobley needs to be more popular haha).I actually expected a Jane Austen themed wedding and I even went to the extend of imagining you in the vintage gown and all.

My sister is constantly fangirling over Mr. Nobley ever since i forced her to watch Austenland the other day.Do you think there is any good period dramas or funny movies/books like Austenland I should watch/read (Urgently needed inorder to cure my sister's addiction). Is midnight in Austenland any good??

Are you a full time writer or do you have any other job??Have you ever been to U.K?? Just curious !

P.S I turned 20 :D

message 191: by Daiane

Daiane Yes! Oh thank God it wasn't me lol. I really wanted to throw him off a cliff. He is boring and he doesn't seem like a good person for me. However, he kinda have to feel like one and that is what it kills me. If it makes sense.
I finally finished moving my stuff and it's been a week that the construction started. This is one of the reasons I was away too long. The other is that it was father's day here and we went travelling :)

Yes! REAL WHITE horses and when she prepared the place for weddings, there were roses in gazebos and all the fancy stuff. It was SO COOL!
Don't tell me about time. One day I wake up and I'm happy I'm 18. The next day I think I turned into the sleeping beauty. I have no idea where my days ran away to...

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* Or a flask!

Most of the dresses I liked had pockets. I ended up having a great time and my brother even came along which was so sweet.

message 189: by Rachel

Rachel Oh my goodness, I know. Really, my reviews are so long because I just have so much to say about the books I read. Whether it's good or bad, I tend to go all out in my reviews :P But yes, feel special!! I love everything about your books. THE MORE DARREN, THE BETTER. It'll be nice to read this one too since we've really seen Darren and Ryiah as an exclusive, out-in-the-open couple. In the first book we saw them developing a friendship and a crush, whereas the second one had them hiding their relationship. Ahhh, I can't wait to see them together and public about their feelings for each other. <333 And ugh, Darren's brother can GO. hahaha

And yes!! Give Sarah Dessen another chance! Which book was the one that didn't work out for you?

message 188: by Rachel

Rachel Hey, Rachel! Thank you for accepting my friend request :) I absolutely adore your Black Mage series! Feeling a little swoony just thinking about Darren, haha. I can't wait till October so I can jump right back into that world. If only October could come a bit faster....

And YES to Noah Shaw! I fell in love with his relationship with Mara. His love for her was just so ahhhh <3 Have you ever read "The Truth about Forever" by Sarah Dessen? The guy in there, Wes, is one of my all time favourites in YA.

And I saw you finished Black Ice! I've been very hesitant to start a Becca Fitzpatrick book. The romance in them, based off the reviews I've read, doesn't seem very appealing. How was it?

(By the way, in case you missed it: I posted my review for "Apprentice" recently!)

Angelique The Gilded Pages Magonia is $1.99 on Amazon today only!

message 186: by Daiane

Daiane Aaaah outdooor <3
I reeeeeally want to see pictures after it! It will be aaaaawesome! When I lived in Canada My hostmother's sister had a farm and she used to host weddings there. She had those huge white horses and carriages and in weddings everything was sooooo pretty. Of course I just saw the wedding days on pictures but I loved the horses <3
I'm talking too much lol. Anyway, you will be soo pretty!
Ahh, I will spend this weekend cleaning my fridge to move it and packing the rest of my books T_T

I don't know why but GR usually hides status (especially mine. He hates me D=). I usually have a list of some friends that I stalk to like their feed and things like this lol

I started Splintered on a buddy read from a group but as they will take it slow, I will take some time to read it. But I must say, what a crazy thing. The world building is mad. I'm on chapter 5 and sorry to say this but (view spoiler)

And about you stalking me, anytime. I will let you go by without calling the cops. Pinky promise <3

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* That's awesome. Bit of a bait and switch there! It's a whole lot of dress. If he thinks you're going ballgown, he'll be surprised! Lace is just so beautiful. Half of my clothes have lace too haha

I only have one (official) brother. I have a couple of friends that adopted me as their sister because we grew up together but Jonas should be coming along while I try on dresses. My dad, Taylor, and he all have very specific but similar taste in dresses so it might work out well that way.

Daiane Raaaaaaacheeee~l
I've been a little bit out lately because of work and I'm fixing my house (rebuilding the roof D:). Buuuuut, I looked at your bridal shower invitation so I HAD to pass by and tell you how AWESOME it is. Plus, don't worry, it won't rain in your wedding and if it does, just use some magic girl. You have a bunch of magicians, make them work!
Love ya <3 :D

message 183: by Sarah

Sarah Black :o I'm heartbroken (Hehehe joking). It looks really nice, have you almost finished the wedding plans? And dare I ask the theme or is it what we spoke about before. The whole fabulous Austen theme. Are the magnets blue? I love blue :)

I've found some new books that I think you may like the sound of. If you have an e-book reading device check out BookBub.com. It emails you the new books that are free or cheap every day. It works through several websites like Amazon or google etc... I have to admit I've downloaded so many.

I'm curious what is your daytime job? I think you've told me, but me being me I've gotten in a tiz or two and forgotten. I used to work with children in a nursery. I loved it until things with my boss got too unprofessional and was treated badly because I was different to the rest of the workers.

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* OMG your dress is GORGEOUS! So pretty. I love the lace (it's so sweet and traditional)

Definitely check out The Patriot. It has Mel Gibson in it and it's really well made. And Heath Ledger. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me go dump a bunch of tea in the local river since we don't have a harbor anywhere nearby.

The lake was fun. Had to sacrifice kayaking for taking my test but still had a good time. I hope your weekend at the lake goes well! It's so nice to get away sometimes.

I'm so entirely completely jealous of your bridal shower. How perfect. I can't imagine anything better. And thank you for the advice about stores! I'm running blind here since I'm the first girl in the family to get married so any help I can get is extremely welcome.

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* Revolutionary War/Colonial Era stuff has to be done right or it's ridiculous. The Patriot is still one of the best films made for that time period.

Errands suck. They kill a weekend so easily! Sounds like you need some time to yourself :-P But there's no rush on Falling for Innocence. It's always going to be there. I may rewatch it at some point. I got my test done, got to go play on the water, and even had a campfire cookout which was wonderful.

This is my dream dress that I've been stalking for a while:
http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collectio...

Go big or go home. I'm going to do the same thing as you and go to a few stores. My first shopping trip is in a couple of weekends but we're going to David's Bridal and just trying on for shapes first. I'm going for lace with a back too. It's funny how similar our tastes are!

I love that tattoo too, for all of the same reasons. It looks so simple and clean and easy.

And I added you to the gif board :-D

OMG I can't believe that you've finally found your Mr. Darcy(Or is it Mr. Nobley??You choose :P)!!! Where did you meet first??(Or is too personal of a question to ask??).Is he a writer??I would like to know more about your Mr. Darcy though.I wish I could fly all the way across the globe to attend your wedding(Even I weren't invited haha).Do you have a theme for your wedding??

My sincere apologies for the late reply, this was supposed to be posted like a week ago but then I went hunting for the perfect gif and ended up watching a deleted scene from Austenland(I bet you've watched them numerous times ;).I'm done with all my exams, now I'm trying hard to complete the reading challenge of the year.

message 179: by Sarah

Sarah Black First I want to apologise for the late reply, I've being attempting to read which ended badly everytime. Austenland, Mansfield park, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility and North and South were all calling to me. Have you seen the new Once Upon a Time trailer? I'm not happy at all my reaction was description , but then I thought about this man description and smiled. Anyway how are the wedding plans coming?

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* Turn is a TV show about the Revolutionary War and from what I remember, very well made. He plays an evil guy but it works. It won't really be relaxing unfortunately. My brother's girlfriend's family is coming up for the first time so not only do I have to take a test, I have to be the hostess too. So stressful!

But yes! My wedding is up there, next September. I have my tent, tables, chairs, linens, lights, generators, tableware, location, and places where people can stay all picked out. It's been a fairly painless thing so far but I haven't even attempted wedding dress shopping yet so we'll see how that goes. You big day is approaching! How are you doing with it? I hope everything is going well :-)

I'm in the same boat. Have you seen the semi colon tattoo? I'm totally considering it. And my secret boards are either Korean related or gifs. Take your pick haha.

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* I knew we were friends for reason!!!!!

We have all the same obsessions. And JJ is also in Captain America and Turn if you want to fangirl a little bit more on him ;-) And I'll get to watching Emma right away. It will be my reward after taking a test this weekend while at the lake.

And I might have to invite you to my secret boards. That's where all the rabid fangirling happens.

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* OMG Mr. Thornton is my dream man. I'm jealous of your bridal shower! It sounds amazing. I'll definitely have to check out Emma. It's one of my favorites anyways. Have you seen Austenland? Super super cute movie.

I completely understand being stuck, especially with moving into a new house! (Congrats, by the way <3). I am getting to that point with a few shows too. It gets kind of crazy in the middle but Kang is so effing attractive it's worth it.

I followed you on pinterest. <3<3<3

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* raCHEL! RACHEL!

I'm here to pester you.

Did you finish Falling for Innocence yet? I have more shows for you with evil main characters that end up being the love interest. Have you ever seen the BBC North and South? *le swoon*

Sarah Black Hello. :)
It's been awhile since we last spoke. How have you been?

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* Thank you m'dear! It's been a bit crazy around here but I plan on holing myself up in the basement at some point with a mimosa (or two) and shutting out the rest of my responsibilities for the day :-P

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* Aren't there severe water restrictions going on? That's fucking ridiculous, if you'll pardon my French. All she is doing by wanting a green lawn (which presumably will be fertilized as well) is contributing to the change of the landscape downstream including but not limited to: algal blooms, changing pH in water, destruction of habitat, lowering the water table, and loss of species. *rant over* (This is what happens with an environmental person with a handy soapbox)

So silly. So short sighted.

Anyways, enjoy the show! I'm jealous of your glass of cab. I might be getting a pizza tonight after turning in my assignment for my masters and helping my brother and his girlfriend move. Your weekend sounds so much more fun!
