The day I started writing was the day my healing began. I had no idea how powerful it would be to write about my parents' sad beginnings and then onto my life growing up in the '60s, '70s and '80s. I was always searching for Mr. Right, and I finally figured out how to manage without a knight in shiny armour. I am married to my second husband after a failed first marriage, with three adult children. I work with special needs people of all ages, and I started teaching fitness back when leg warmers and curly perms were the trends. I still teach fitness after all these years. My most recent book, Where is My Happy Ending, in retrospect, could have been fiction, and I sometimes wonder if I would have felt less vulnerable if it had been. What it really comes down to is the I love reading non-fiction. I like learning things when I read, and I like writing about "what I know". When I am reliving a memory and telling a true story, my fingers fly off the keyboard. It is rewarding for me when someone says, "wow, your book was so relatable, or your book really helped me, I laughed, I cried etc.." I have two more books in my head, wanting to come out and then yes, I will write a fiction eventually.(less)
