He was undoubtedly hired for his ability to pronounce middle eastern names. I suppose he got them right. I don’t know. What I do know is that he apparently does not have a basic understanding of the French language. Which is a problem since a good chunk of the book takes place in France and several of the main characters are French. Take “eww de cologne” for example. Are you kidding me?? And oh my god his accent for the elderly British woman was painful.

So so so good! I loved the narration and the story. Everyone who even has an inkling of an interest in books about space travel should read or listen So so so good! I loved the narration and the story. Everyone who even has an inkling of an interest in books about space travel should read or listen to this. I recommend the audio. I think it makes it easier to understand the complicated math and science. Or at least get the gist of it.
And I recommend that you not read too much about the storyline before you delve in. I think it’s better that way. Just do it!
ETA: I just read some of the 1-star reviews. They have valid points but I still really enjoyed the ride. It’s about space travel! It doesn’t have to be perfectly logical to be a good story. ...more
